With marijuana slowly becoming legal across the states, do you believe online poker will become legal statewide, kinda like sports betting?

Not sure if you can compare the two as if they are related, but I do see the similarities between the two. I do think it will happen in the next 5 years. Lord knows I've been waiting long enough to be able to play on pokerstars again

legalizing poker

I think people should be able to use their money anyway they want, I love poker. They should worry about bigger things online than poker. Cannot wait for them to allow it again.:p

Exactly, think of all the revenue going overseas. People will find a way to gamble. Why not keep that money in the USA.

It does not make a lot of sense to me to hinder the online poker community with legality.
#1. It's nobody's business (to determine how someone spends their money is ridiculous).
#2. Online casino gambling, although uncertain of its legal status, is abundant and more clearly fits legislation language.
#3. It's unclear how poker is classified as gambling from a category standpoint, and raffling does not appear to have such an issue. State funded lotteries and gambling entities are everywhere. Is this a moral issue or a "who gets to profit issue?"

The thing regulation should be doing is their job, by supporting the will of the people and ensuring adequate regulation; so poker players can be confident in the game's integrity with effective regulation of accounting, software and programming.

It's complicated. You've got the Federal Wire act, Sheldon Adelson's funding folks opposed to internet gambling, and each state's take on the issues. It's complicated.

I think eventually it'll be back for good. Might be a slow and long process but I have hope.

It’s a pity that online poker is banned in the USA, I would like to see more USA players.
and yes it is surprising that marijuana is allowed in the states, I really want to visit the United States sometime.

I believe it will be back fully and strive. Unfortunately, probably later than sooner however.

I think the land based casinos have paid off the congressmen to make sure it doesn't happen because they want to protect their market and money but that is just my opinion.

Hopefully it happens sooner rather than later, would be nice to be able to play on some of the other sites I see all the twitch streamers playing regularly on.

The tax revenue the government will make from online poker will be huge. So as soon as they can get it approved they will. It's just a matter of time.

Strange it's all of course!Weapons and soft drugs are allowed, but gambling is not allowed)your laws are weird. Why do you have different laws in different states? The country must be one and the laws are one,or something I do not understand!Whatever happens,I wish more patience to my American friends and good luck!It would be interesting to play with you)

I play on intertops and ACR and I can play with real money just fine. Only some sites like Pokerstars or 888 etc require NJ residence...so I am confused about this legalizing poker issue

I sure hope online poker is legalized in the US. It seems it wont come any time soon though. In the government the right hand doesn't know what the left hand is doing. If it is legalized it will surely be taxed.

I always figured it would follow along the lines of marijuana, slowly but surely legalized.

It seems like we are getting closer to getting it back but we do still have a long way to go. We need every state to bring it back individually and then we can tackle the crossing state line restrictions.

Heres a pro tip: Get married. 5yrs will pass in no time! Doctors say traumatic brain injuries can sometimes make time and space move at the speed of light in some circumstances. :D:D

Eventually, yes poker will be legal. The government just wants a cut of the money and time to figure out who will get it.

Poker in America is stuck in no man's land without clear definition. It is likely to remain this way for a long time.

not sure how the two are even related but I think with marijuana legalization out of the way in some states, they'll start broadening their horizons and inadvertently come across the case of online poker legalization.
