Hi,

I'm new to the forums and I see that there is a lot of good reading here. I'm sure this is a silly question, but I'm feeling a little paranoid. I decided to ignition Casino account to play poker, and I gave them my personal information including my mother's maiden name and my DOB. I probably should have thought about this further before doing so. I decided that this poker client isn't really for me because the software graphics seem poor and the fact that I had to give them that personal information up front made me nervous. Unfortunately, I cannot permanently delete my account or delete my personal info off their servers. They also happened to cold call me today using the phone number I provided them. The customer service agent explain that my information is secure but would not be deleted.

So, I'm wondering if others here have found that Ignition does indeed do a good job protecting personal information, or should I be worried? Has anyone suffered identity theft as a result of giving them your personal information?

Is there anything I can do about this situation to have my personal info removed from their servers since it's going to sit there unused?

Any experience with Ignition on this front would be appreciated. Wish I hadn't had to ask. Thanks!

You shouldn't be to concerned. We all go through the same procedure and nothing ever comes of it in any negative way....

Shouldn't be an issue & yup software is crappy, always has been & prolly always will be. Stuff like Moms middle name & such are security questions & you can put down whatever you want for an answer, truth is not required.

Yeah, unfortunately, I didn't put a whole lot of thought into what I was doing and did give them honest answer to these questions, but it sounds like this isn't something I should be overly worried about according to your replies. Thanks very much for replying, btw. Does anyone else concur with the conclusions with the two replies here? Thanks in advance.

I got an email from them a few weeks ago saying that my password was stolen and my account hacked. I didn't even sign in to do anything about it since I haven't had money on there in a long time.

Do a Dark Web Scan

With any unregulated online gaming site I would pay for or find a free site and do a dark Web scan every 6 months!

Yeah that's what I was hoping to avoid. I joined ignition based on the review I read provided here on cardchat; however, I hadn't initially realized it was an unregulated site. It was a spontaneous and stupid decision. I wish I could eradicate my info on their server but there doesn't seem to be a way to do so.

I'm glad to hear that the first two posters believe there is little to worry about. The replies about a hacked account and routinely checking the dark web have me naturally concerned.

Has anyone else had their identity stolen or their account hacked on Ignition? Or am I really just getting worked up over nothing. I did not give them my credit card, thankfully.

Thanks, and I'm glad to have found these forums. I appreciate the help people have offered thus far.

Hi,

Just checking back looking for more opinions. Does anyone else have any experience with Ignition and feels it safe that they have my personal information? I did not give them my CC, but they do have my real DOB and mother's maiden name (I know, that was stupid of me. don't know what I was thinking). Am I worrying too much about this? Thanks.

Just see if there is information reserved for depitni cards and remove them if I think you will have no problem with the maintenance of the site. Next time carefully review the site you intend to deposit or directly ask here for no extra worries.

First of all, thanks so much for replying. I thought perhaps no one would add anything more to this thread and I'm still a bit concerned. Unfortunately, I'm not sure what you're referring to in your reply. I think you mean debit cards? You're absolutely right, I should've taken more time to investigate this site before I subscribed. It was really boneheaded and uncharacteristic of me. I did not provide them my credit card information or social security number, thankfully. However, I did provide them my DOB and mother's maiden name, and I'm terribly uncomfortable that they have this info. Here's what I've done with the help of Ignition, who refuse to delete my information entirely:

1. I had them permanently close my account.
2. They allowed me to change my contact information (email and physical address) and my mother's maiden name under my account profile, but they stressed that the original information I provided would remain on their servers.
3. I received an email from them confirming all this was done.

My impression based on what I've read on forums is that I don't have anything really to worry about. It would seem that despite being an unregulated site that Ignition uses good security encryption and the likelihood that my information is hacked and stolen is small. However, I only have a few people here in this thread offering such assurances.

If anyone has any suggestions as to how else I may work with Ignition to protect my identity, I would greatly appreciate it. I know it may not mean much, but I would also appreciate anyone here who is a longstanding member with Ignition attesting to the fidelity of their security, ie. reassuring me I shouldn't be all that worried.

I'm sticking with regulated gaming sites from now on. Thanks and sorry if I sound terribly paranoid. The whole thing has got me really spooked.
