For 4 days I rose from $ 1 to $ 22 and then lost everything. It's a shame terrible that I did not stop.

i have lost 100 but i hope to back all of them as soon as possible !

In total, I also lost about 100 ..:(

Hah this is negative side of this question.

Positive ask will be:
How much money you need to lose,to learn to play poker?

I think this is an endless process:D

I’ll share my experience a bit maybe play to your level and be patient. I started with 20 about a year ago, built it up to 60 in dollar tables then got ****y went to 5,,10 buy ins. I lost lol rebought for 50 again I stick to my talent level or what im comfortable with now I’m up a lot and moved onto 10 dollar games. Point is play a lot a lot of micro hands to get better don’t rush things, learn learn. Good luck
PS this quarantine has helped me lol

depends on your goals.

if you're playing poker because you want to make it a career, grind out high stakes for lots of money, and deal with huge variance swings, then it might not be the best option if you're constantly losing a lot of money and not profiting from it.

but if it's a hobby, something you do for fun, and something you're can afford to play without sacrificing finances, then who cares if you lose some money? if you play blackjack for fun, lets say you visit vegas every few years, do you think about the money you lost at the tables? or maybe you like to buy lotto tickets every week, do you think about the $52 you spent in a year and didn't win anything? probably not. so, why worry about losing money in a game you're playing for fun?

Win or lose if you arent having fun its time to stop. no amount of money lost will teach you how to play. you can learn the game but never master it. Good luck at the tables

I don’t think you have to lose much at all to understand that poker is not for you.
Look, if you don't have a sense of success for a long time, after a while you will not want to play poker.
I recommend freerolls so you don’t have to waste money on the game

Thanks, I'm playing freerolls right now.
But 5000-6000 players and winning 50 places ... It seems to me unrealistic to win such a tournament. Although the last places I still won:dancing2:

bro, the same thing happened to me too!
I went up from 1 $ to 24 $, 5 days ago, but now I'm losing everything, I'm not getting any decent games and I don't hit anything on the flop. I'm dropping to $ 15 just because I'm playing low stakes, otherwise I would have lost everything. But the strugle continues.:fight:

I'd say whatever your game is, if you lose 100 Buy ins while you are studying and trying to improve, then just forget about it.

So if you play NL2, stop if you lose 200$.

It may be a bit conservative, but surely that would help many more people not losing money, more than stopping few from earning some.

More than you can afford to lose. Any money deposited should be instantly seen as lost, if you're then redepositing and trying to chase the loses then its time to give it up..

in many cases to become a winner at the beginning you have to start by winning. I think the ones that stayed in poker are the ones that started on the good side of variance and that we had some wins at the beginning. Nobody likes to lose, and I think that a high percentage of those who go far in the game is because at first the lady fortune helped them a little, thus maintaining the motivation to start studying. I know that when I started I did incredibly well, and that in technical terms I was a winning player from the beginning (in terms of benefits, not real skill). I also think that there are many players with possibilities of having talent who never really start playing because they did very badly at the beginning. I'm not saying that to be a winning player it is impossible to be one of those who do several reloads at the beginning, but I think that at some point you must have been successful at the beginning to continue.
In fact I am one of those who think that online poker learns the basics of the game, but where all the knowledge of the game and the strategies is actually put into live poker, the former being a game of luck manipulated by a software

I never lose my own money but just the gains I made on the frerrolls. which in the end does not really bother me because I consider poker as a hobit and not a way to live. in which I absolutely have to be a profitable player.

Friend Ludyiko,
I think it's not how much you lose, but how you lose. And if your mode is Cash, you can lose a thousand dollars in 5 minutes.
The important thing is to stop, open your hands and analyze with good software where you're going wrong, study more like great mentors who post tips on YouTube (right here we have the course available and free, thanks Cardschat) and don't get discouraged.
After doing these tasks, go back to playing and you will see that your results are sure to be better.
I'm Brazilian, my English is not so good, but as in poker, just study and practice and we'll get there.

GL !!

My advice, try a different Poker room. I suspect you are on pokerstars. They don't have great freerolls, besides the Cardschat ones of course, but even then the CC regulars are pretty good players and it isn't easy to get in the money. I find I am more often unlucky on Pokerstars.

I have been playing at 888 lately, and with a 10$ deposit you get a lot of perks and freerolls that are not hard to get in the money. They aren't the greatest site, customer service wise, but you can't have everything. The bonuses only work if you lose, kind of like insurance, so maybe that is another incentive.

Cheers and good luck

If lose $5200+current profit to date in 2020 which is my extremely tight easily affordable bankroll stop loss no more deposits would still keep playing though working on a zero to hero freeroll back to 5k miracle would not quit.
Until then the paced struggle continues plan on keeping my dependants tuition fees in 10 years time,Car and house keys off the felt though like Dany mentioned.:)
