I have a feeling that some players play together at cash tables and sit and go's.
But they are difficult to spot and it is difficult to prove.
Anyone who have experience with this?
Can the pokersite catch them by looking at player statistics?
I asume it is very difficult if they are carefull?

I have started playing at quick fold tables, because each table is new players, and therefore it is difficult to sit at same table and cheat. But even there cheating by playing together is possible if you are more patient.
I seam to win more at those quick tables, but that could also be because people are more loose there?

Any ideas/oppinions out there?

I've noticed something odd with some of the high limit players at stars. I personally believe they are colluding to share funds

Ive also seen actual cheating in a sit and go in a play money game lol (wtf is the point)..

It's scary that it can happen undetected by the pokersite. It must be possible for the pokersite to see from statistics that some players often are on the same tables, and perhaps also on the way they play conclude that they are communicating together.

Hello! I read that before making a withdrawal from the room, the administration checks the honesty of the winnings, but this refers to a large cache-out. I think the fraud will be detected and stopped. Sincerely, Sergey.

What if you use programs like PokerTracker tracking your hands.
Will programs like this help the user detecting fraud?

it does happen, people have already been caught, but like you say, very difficult to detect and prove if they are careful

it’s possible that several friends sit down at the same table and then share all the winnings, so I only play tournaments

In Any game where there is an element of luck, you can find cases similar to fraud, but this is not always true.

I played sit & go 6 max and there were three players from Japan, they didn't play against each other for a long time, and other players were regularly raised. there was suspicion of collusion, while in one hand they were given pocket nines, AKs and JJ they three went all in and two left the game.
So it is not always what we think is true, although there is always enough deception in poker. I wish everyone only fair games.:)

I'm 100% sure that some of them use team play. Usually they are players from few countries (won't share which ones, coz don"t want to insult sincere players form those countries)...

Oh yes!!! There are many players who slow-play in cash and who on the river get the same card with a 2-8% odds. It is noteworthy that I rarelya see this in tournaments, perhaps these cheaters are not impressed with prize pool. If these villains participated in tournaments, the system would reseat them, but in cash games it is not so and there is every opportunity for team play! Something is wrong here, so I refused to play online cache and expensive tournaments, especially if they are for 45 players or less.

I guess it would depend on the platform but my thoughts;

You can't have more than 1 account from the same IP and most proxy servers are known and blocked so that's difficult in-person.

Not always able to select a table, constantly rolling the dice hoping you both get on same table seems like a lot of effort, easy to detect that why else would you join and leave a game mode more than a couple times would be fishy.

Some places don't let you talk to other players so finding someone through the poker site would be difficult.

I choose my poker site based on some of these things.

I saw ads in private chats and forums that people from different countries come together and periodically play at the same table. Since everyone has withdrawal to different payment systems, it is not so easy to track down a conspiracy in the end.

Of course, that is always going to be possible. Believe it or not poker sites do not really like this, and if it is obvious, accounts do get banned. With online poker you should be aware of what is possible and what technology is available to people. I say the same thing on this thread as I do on the "online poker rigged" threads. Pay attention, if you feel as if you are being colluded against. take some screenshots, BUT stop playing, maybe you need to do a better job at table selecting. Remember seating scripts sit players whenever a "weak" player sits a table. Good Luck, have fun at tables or don't play.

The bad thing about online poker is, its very easy for players to communicate with each other and agree on their actions without other players or the dealer noticing this. But the good thing is, hole cards in all hands are known to the site, and hand histories and patterns can be analysed statictically. So if anyone collude with their "buddy" for more than a single session or two, they should expect to get caught and have their accounts banned.

So as players we can protect ourselfes by sticking to the larger and more serious sites such as PokerStars, GG Poker, 888 Poker, partypoker or ACR. If we choose to play on some obscure site, noone has ever heard about, or maybe on poker Apps, then we should not be surpriced, that we are not getting the level of safe play, which we want and need.

There will always be an element of cheaters or con-men where Money is involved, I really do believe it is possible and even probable in high stake games, because of the money involved, and that is another reason I do not enter high stake Buy-ins.
I have seen instances where Streamers on Twitch enter the same Tournaments so that they can stream together, with a 5 minute delay to their subscribers. Now I don't believe they try to cheat anyone, but it is more entertaining to watch 2 streamers battle it out on the same table, and it does show that it is possible that individuals could possible collude and cheat other players at the same table, on-line.
I used to be Tournament Director at my Local Pub where we played a weekly League game and we had a couple turn up together to play at the cash table the lads used to set up by themselves when they were busted out of the main event.
They were suspected of cheating by the other players and when they complained to me about it all I could do was state that I would speak to the landlord of the pub about it, because even though the Cash game was tolerated by the Pub, It was still Illegal in the eyes of the law.
Eventually we decided to impose a rule where you had to play the League match first in order to enter the Cash game afterwards, and when these 2 turned up to play the following week they knew the gig was up and left, never to return, so there was something going on.
Poker is a fun Game and we tried to keep it honest in our local, I never got paid from the Landlord for running the game, and he and I never got a rake from the games, the only benefit he had was he sold more Beer, and the only reason I did it was because I loved the game and got a few FREE Beers.

When the fun Stops, STOP!

At least there is no such problem with MTTs.Write to the support. They usually pay attention when there is some suspicious activity.
My point is that if everyone starts reporting on these miserable people, the garbage from poker sites will gradually clear up.

I think there must be people trying to cheat out there. I found someone cheating in a friendly game of Magic:The Gathering once in a club that I ran.
