I mean, it sucks for them to lose part of their content, but can you really blame Youtube?

pokerstars and others are no longer pokersites, but online casinos, so if you're promoting pokerstars, 888, etc you are promoting online gambling that favors the house.

Because content that analyzes poker strategy clearly promotes gambling sites. Just because.

Pokerstars is my first room and I concluded "on first sight" that it was a casino, not a poker room.. If the situation is similar with other sites maybe this is the reason for removing content from YouTube lol

Of course youtube can do whatever it wants. As somebody mentioned - it just creates opportunity.

It's really too bad because so much of it was informative.

I am grateful that I got to watch before it was all deleted.

Is it possible to post videos on cardschat?

Often videos have been posted from YouTube. I will have to check with Debi or Tammy, before I say yes or no. :)

(not sure our format will support all videos, honestly)

This is the reason and I'm sure poker companies such as WPT, Poker GO, and ESPN that airs poker have been pressuring Youtube to do this. I had one of my videos that I posted removed from Youtube even though part of the video was edited out not showing the entire episode of the video. Really uncalled for since I wasn't even making any money from the video. The company might as well allow the video to say and make as little amount of money as they can by having it shown on Youtube. The video is 10 + years old so if someone isn't watching it on Youtube there not going to watch it anywhere else.

it is very strange if they just play poker and not in the casino. Because on Russian YouTube there are many bloggers who broadcast their games in the casino and their channels and videos are not blocked

Jaime Staples, Evan Jarvis, and other popular content creators have seen some of their poker videos removed from YouTube in an apparent crackdown on material seen as promoting online gambling sites.

Do you get banned fr youtube from creating content without referencing or linking online casinos? Like for example you just screenshared how you play a specific poker hand and share things you do without putting links to poker sites? I think if the content is for everyone to see minors might be misconcieved how to approach poker and online gaming/gambling TBH... Maybe content needs to have some censorship of some sort then it will even out

Youtube took the decision to remove poker videos from well known players , a totally wrong decision . I mean what does poker has to do with promoting gambling ,etc etc etc , it's a game of skill above all . Also if they do sth like that , they have to remove many millions of videos related to poker only , as well as casino , slots , maybe next step is videos for live tournaments in casinos all over the world ???

''online gambling casinos'' , irrelevant completely imho ...Stupid decisions that create more problems than the ones they solve , I really don't get it what they want to accomplish , who they really help and promote with this decision against poker , against vloggers or poker players .......:(

This seems unusual. If they are consistent across the globe then there is nothing unfair but questions regarding a morality and ethics patrol with vested interests begin to surface. I'm waiting to see if there are other things that are going to be swept away and what will fill the vacuum, if anything.

Youtube has restored the videos, said to remove affiliate links to poker rooms as it violates Youtube T&C (this info was posted via Twitter by those affected).

Very interesting update.

I'll say this...some of those videos DO (or did) show a player driving up to, then entering and playing at a cardroom or casino. And they were great entertainment to watch a players big hands at a regular cash table.

Good luck !

Wow, I never thought about it promoting gambling. That makes sense if that is the case. I can't wait for the US to allow us play and get over it!

If YouTube has a policy of banning content on gambling, and their videos make content markings prohibited by the patience platform, the channel that has to adpatarate the platform and strips of their videos allusions to the prohibited contents

YouTube, Twitter, Facebook and others are becoming more and more restrictive with differing viewpoints. The sad (not-sad) thing is that they are allowed to do this because they are private enterprises. User-generated content can be as widely or narrowly restricted as the social media admins see fit. Unless there are instances where speech is proscribed by law (such as defamation or copyright), the platform is free to set whatever guidelines for user-generated content that it fit. That is...for right now. I agree with Justice Kennedy's opinion in Packingham v. North Carolina when he accurately observed that the greatest battleground for free expression both nationally and globally occurs online with social media. He further compared online social media to a public forum such as a public street or park.

It will be interesting to see how the law develops over the next few years as more of these cases are brought to the Supreme Court.

It's time to create your own video hosting poker.

For example: "CardsTube":):):)

Poker machines, lotto and sports betting are far more harmful than online poker. When are they going to be subject to restrictions.
