WSOP Player Sorin Lovin Disqualified for Spewing Racial Slur at Maurice Hawkins
What do YOU feel is an appropriate penalty?

Good luck with that approach. I'd rather make someone flop the second nuts while I flop the nuts. What he said was wrong, I am not going to dispute it. But to rile someone up with your banter, and one word comes out of the other guys mouth and he is disqualified? I think it is a bit much. So is it going to be a go to thing. Make someone call you a racial slur and he or she is out.
It is a rule though and should be enforced. I would have had no idea of such a rule, but then again I would never have said what he did. A great time to use your headphones so not to get so aggravated.
Was he refunded his buy-in?

One very bad word. And you can't make someone call you a racial slur. And nobody should have to wear headphones to avoid hearing one.
You are suggesting that everyone who is not racist should have to wear headphones just so they never hear racial slurs???
This was not just aggravating talk and should not be put in the same category. There should be zero tolerance for racism everywhere - including in poker games. Penalties should be severe.
So, if the person disqualified is a repeat offender, then what?
Then he would have to be banned permanently. In this day you have to know that some things just should not be said.
It is harder to make myself clear about what I am saying sometimes on a forum post. As seen by the response to one of my statements. I hope I cleared up any misunderstanding about what I posted earlier.
Guy's a racist and got what he deserved,,,,and anyone who even slightly doesn't get that,is a racist too. Duh,,,,,,,
Not what I meant, I meant that if you have a problem with someone talking and getting you so upset you resort to senseless name calling. You should be wearing headphones and not listening to fellow players. In no way do I condone what the player in question said. It has no place in the games.
I think it all started when he lost a big pot against the man. He never regained his composure after that. He should have taken a break from the table and not have let his emotions get the better of him.
I do realize that when in the game some players try to harass other players to get them off of their game. In this case the guy who said the slur, should have been wearing headphones since the other player got under his skin.
