Is the big one for one drop 1m per again? Are they going to limit the entries to 48? What is the little one for one drop? I look forward to hearing more.

The $1 million buy-in tournament is set to return at the 2014 wsop, number of participants is not yet known.

The little one for one drop this charity event, with each buy-in were transferred to the Fund One Drop, which is working to improve access to clean water humanity worldwide.

Are they still doing the 111k event from last year?

I heard they were setting the cap for one of these one drop tourneys at like 54 or something like that(i assume it is the 111k).

Curious to see who will be playing the 1mill event.

I am also very curious about who will participate, in 1m event. I hope there will be more poker players than of businessmen.
In 2014 111k event will not, only Little One for ONE DROP, the $1,111 buy-in..

Looking forward to seeing the full events when they get listed. When does that usually happen? Hoping I can make my first Las Vegas trip and wsop series next year, depending on how poker goes running up towards May. Obviously only to play a few of the smaller events just for the experience.

It says it will be released some time in January - would love to see you there!

I want to play in the Ladies event as usual and will add one other event this year.I want it to be the Little One for One Drop event - but hate that it is so late. I guess with 2 start dates it will be a 3 day event. That means the soonest I could come home is July 6th - was hoping to get back earlier this year.

Yeah, would be great to see you too! I've got no idea on the time I'd go, just depends on which events I'd be playing but I certainly wouldn't be staying for the full duration, I'd end up broke! When do you usually go during the series and for how long?

I will be there for close to 2 weeks. I will probably arrive around June 22 and come back home around July 6th.

They should increase the integrity of these high buy-in games by requiring you make your own buy-in instead of getting staked. Just my opinion but if you are staked and don't win it's really no sweat off your back but it isn't that way for others in the same game that have to pay.

That is in no way true. I doubt anyone would be 100% staked - they would have at least a piece of themselves which could potentially be worth a lot.

Even if someone did have a 100% stake deal they would be getting a percentage of their winnings. Nobody would be playing this for nothing.

You are aware that hardly any pro poker players are playing on 100% of their own money aren't you?

Eliminate staking and you may as well eliminate the event.

No - they think even though most participants will be spending 2 weeks to over 2 months in Vegas for this event that they don't need to know the schedule til it's too late to plan effectively lol.

Totally unrelated, but does anyone know how do British players stand in regards to tax on any cashes in the WSOP? I've tried reading up on it but there doesn't seem a clear cut answer. Some say there is a tax treaty between the US and UK and any cashes wont be taxed but I'm also seeing some casinos will automatically withhold money for the IRS and you have to wait basically for however long to get money back whilst others say you actually will be taxed even as a visitor.

I'm not sure on the actual specifics, but I was playing in a deepstacks tourney at the Rio during the WSOP last year, and it was down to the last 5, and decided to chop where first place was $11k+ I believe. When trying to decide who is going to claim what for tax purposes (they wouldn't do an even chop, the players had to figure it out on our end) there was a guy from the UK who said he would take it, because of a tax treaty, and blah blah (I didn't care to much because it was 4am). Anyways, he didn't have to pay taxes on the spot, and was going to do it when he got home based on something or another.

I just saw this on the WSOP website from the FAQs from last year:

 U.S. Residents: Must provide a Social Security Number.
 U.S. residents not providing a Social Security Number, will be subject to 28% tax withholding.
 Foreign Residents of U.S. Tax Treaty Countries: Must provide an Individual Tax Identification Number.
 Foreign Residents of Treaty Countries, not providing an Individual Tax Identification Number, will be
subject to 30% tax withholding.
 Foreign Residents of U.S. Tax Non-Treaty Countries: Will be subject to 30% tax withholding.
