Whatever happened to Tom Dwan?

Anyone know where Tom Dwan is, and/or why he left the American Poker scene, I heard he was playing high stakes games in Macau?

He stopped playing and backed out of his prop bets. Guessing he ran out of cash.

He definitely plays in Macau and exactly at the highest limits. There were several news on the Internet that his duel with Cates would continue, but nothing concrete yet. It's a pity, but the limits in online poker have died and will not return, including because of the tax policy of many countries.

There is lots of speculation he has been seen playing big games in Macau also hes been seen playing the tournaments over there too.

Lots of rumours of him busting etc

but.. who actually cares?

He stopped playing online ever since he couldn't beat Jungleman in the HU challenge and has never paid Jungleman his fair share so right now he is recognized as a scammer. The HU match in question never actually completed, but enough hands were played and Dwan was down enough to the point where making a comeback would not have been realistically possible.Currently he is supposedly in Macau, and people are not sure of his financial status. Some people are guessing he's broke and being staked, others are guessing he's killing the live poker games in Macau. No one really knows about his financial situations I guess.

I was wondering the same thing. I enjoyed watching him crush other pros on High Stakes Poker and Poker After Dark.

I really hate hearing stories like this. I don't know all of the facts, but if true, it is disappointing. Character still counts in my book. I don't care how entertaining a guy might be, and Dwan is certainly that.

He was all that for a time. I would not doubt that a Macau casino is using him as a proposition player.

Well, you I can't tell you what happened to him but it Doug Polk posted the following video on YouTube not long ago.

not sure what hes up to, seems like hes definetly staying off tv poker or sponorship, he rarely updates his twitter account. probably for the better if you want to continue winning, just be low key

I think he has to play* for his staker Paul Phua, he made even some weird poker education videos with him.
