The PPA is missing a coherent presentable plan. If, from Black Friday, they had worked on crafting the legislation we all want, and presented it to us, we would know they are doing something for us. They have not. And at times have stated that is not the intention of the PPA. Instead, they have told us that lobbying is the way they want to go.
I won't willingly support any lobbyist even when he is lobbying especially for me, personally, dj11, let alone another lobbying effort that says what they want is what I should want.
They could have approached it in stages, with player protections as one of the early stages. Had they done so, we would have a working concept by now that covered all the incidentals of US players (not to mention a well thought out world wide manifesto) and how we the players expect to be treated.
Other stages would have been money and how it moves between players and
poker sites. Age verifications, problem
gambling and all those related issues.
They seem to think someone else will write the bills we want our legislators to consider. Nay, I want the PPA to present a full blown bill to the legislators for consideration. If they were to produce such a bill, hopefully after final comments by the existing members, both paid and unpaid, to any of several to many Senators and Representatives, I'm sure several of them would have gladly signed on to sponsor such a bill.
I do believe all those deeply involved folks at the PPA are well meaning folks, but the approach is wrong IMHO.
