I think it is a step in the right direction. Baby steps.

Hopefully this will nudge California and/or New York to reconsider their stances. If so, it may be like a stack of dominoes falling across the US.

Not sure if I will see it come to my State in my lifetime. But, since I will be retiring in a little over 8 months, it is time for a move to a more progressive State. Don't like the idea of moving to either PA, DE, NV, or NJ however. Let's wait until May and watch the action!

Baby steps.
that was my initial thought. Another step in the direction of nationwide legalization.
Like you, I don't know if I'll live to see it. But it's in the process. :bebored:

This is awesome and quick, only 7 years after black friday. I bet no one in their right mind would predicted it would take this long and only get 3 states on board. It would be nice to get some USA only poker especially if any of is easier can lord knows none of it is easy these days

There is one bit of information in this article that could cause a lot of chatter in the forums from players based in these states affected.
See if you can pick it out.

https://www.cardschat.com/news/interstate-online-poker-liquidity-sharing-set-to-become-reality-61867

The only thing I could pick out is that players in Delaware and Nevada have to download new software and create new accounts. Their old accounts will be migrated over to the new ones and their bankrolls should be the same. New Jersey is unaffected.

What the article does not mention is the use of HUDs. They will be strictly prohibited. Nevada law prohibits them, and to level the playing field all HUDs are to be banned.

HUD prohibition has another nasty gotcha. You will not be able to download hand histories with the new client software. You can review hands in the software (Replay), but you have to request complete hand histories via Customer Support.

IMO, the HUD ban is alright in my book for two reasons. First, I do not use one, nor can I afford to right now. Second, and most important to all of the bots that are reading this, you cannot fill your little data RAMs with all of this knowledge either!

I didn't know that HUDs were banned in Nevada.
Learn something everyday. Thanks.

The thing I was hinting about being in the article was the bonus's and player awards. The article said it wasn't "made clear" if those would be transferred over.

I guess we both learned something new today then! I must have missed that part (tunnel-vision maybe).

I agree .. baby steps indeed .... and I also live in one of the more backward states in almost every way .... the list of things our current local government has said will never be legal seems to grow every day, everything here seems to scare these people, and even most of the cardrooms that cropped up allowing online play in the USA are not allowed here ... we have brick and mortar here and that has been my solace ..... until finding ACR which I am completely enjoying, and I am going through the relearning of online poker lol ....

I would love to move to another state that could be there or with these hopeful " baby steps " will get there ... for me that isn't possible really .. the wife is dead set against leaving here .... personally I hate it here. Such is life. But happy things are looking up ... this is long overdue in the Land of the free, and the home of the brave ...

I will be moving early 2019. I am looking at your neck of the woods. Perhaps Arkansas or Illinois. I do love driving I-40 west of you in the Fall. The colors are amazing.

It would be really cool if this led to a federal solution.

I think it's just a matter of time.

I also think..Las Vegas has to be plAyer in it before it ever becomes legal nationwide.

Definately.

Once revenue is recognized...other states will follow. May take years though.

Its good news to hear no matter what states are on board. I can't believe the harsh laws in place on a few states in the us. This will take time but with all the state and federal money opportunity the us really should get deals done soon.

Good for the players that benefit from a much larger
playerpool now...
That's a tiny step forward for US players...

Hopefully we will see a change in the poker regulation
with less country specific player pools in the future and
keep the worldwide community of poker players able to
compete against each other freely
