Another way to corral players into making money for someone else. Another version of an Epic Poker League with a male version of Annie Duke in terms of ethics and respect for the game and players.
WSOP, EPT, WPT, etc., the ones who get millions of dollars in selling advertising using players who in many cases buy in with their own money are not reaping any benefits by signing the "TOS" papers prohibiting them for any extra financial gain. Imagine if Will Smith had to pay $10k to act in a movie and not receive any royalties? Sound insane? Well. that is what has been happening since poker has been televised.
Oh, you mean like football, baseball, basketball, soccer, skiing, MMA, wrestling, rodeo, NasCar, Formula One, and cricket? No one is going to put on a professional event unless there is a profit to be made. If you want to quibble about the splits, fine, but don't blame the WPT, the WSOP, the GPL, fantasy sport leagues and your local card room for wanting to make money. And, yes, if the TOS states that you cannot wear a WPT patch to a WSOP final table, that seems pretty reasonable.
Cheers!
