Hello, everyone! I currently reside in the netherlands and I have been investigating the Dutch gambling laws / taxation legislation.

From what I read, there is a 29% tax on all online gambling winnings that are below €454.

However, the link below (written in November 20th, 2015) suggests otherwise:
https://www.pokernews.com/news/2015/11/court-rules-poker-the-netherlands-malta-23511.htm

Clearly, this is just for pokerstars.eu, but what about other sites? I personally play on 888... Most of the information I read is quite outdated (from the years of 2013 / 2014).

Is there anyone here, who either knows or, perhaps, even lives in the Netherlands and could help me out with this?

The last thing I want is the government coming knocking on my door asking where TF did I get all this money and charge me for tax evasion.

wherever you live, you can check with local tax office, they have web site, and it's supposed to be in English to, so you can get all info you may need from 1st hand, right from them.

I sincerely hope they dont, cause this would open the door for any number of tax legislations.

I'm from the Netherlands and will dig into this for you (and others).
As I'm reading now on the Internet there has been a legal case resulting in the abolition of taxes on winnings on gambling games for companies located in the European Union.
These include NetBet Poker, 888poker, Lucky Ace Poker and Betsafe Poker. poker stars is still uncertain cause of their organizational structure. Other websites seem less precise in what this court result means for winnings on poker sites.

To be continued...

First of all, thank you for helping me out!
If there actually are no taxes for 888, I will be happier than ever, haha. I did find the 29% gambling tax, when reading through the legislation docs, but it is somewhat misleading, as there are a few articles which state that there is no taxation on poker winnings in the Netherlands.
