It's always nice to see stuff like this. Although I anticipate it will still be years before anything really happens, it's good to see that people are remaining interested in any progress.

Americans, you want to know how you will be able to play OLP LEGALLY in the near future? Its all laid out in the Article below.

.
http://www.tahoebonanza.com/article/20130206/NEWS/130209979/1061&ParentProfile=1050

.
The below quotes would sound like the usual optimistic banter from the poker industry but these quotes are coming from Governor Sandoval's Office in the State Capital.

Sandoval wants lawmakers to approve within 30 days legislation

Nevada should strive to become the “regulatory hub” for Internet gambling

If Nevada doesn't move quickly, “other states will fill that vacuum,”

the state to join the international global gambling community.

“It becomes much more exciting if the player pool is 100,000, not 10,000, and if you can actually go online and win $1 million, not $10,000.”

Man im getting wood :D

The beauty of the Nevada Governors position is that it sort of forces all the other states to deal with the OLP issues, even if it is to make it illegal for a citizen of State X to make wagers on a Nevada site. Stoke of ****ing genius. And in a weird way, the moralists will end up helping to resolve the issues. They will be coming out of the walls soon, saying NO!, while every bankrupt state eyes revenue.

It puts some serious pressure on the Fed level as well. IMHO the Fed should concentrate on Consumer Protections, while the states deal with the mechanics of who, what, when , where.

Please Uncle SAM fix this stupid online poker situation ASAP. I can only play on two sites because Kentucky is ignorant and backwards. I live with-in 10 min of 2 other states, both of which have legal b&m casinos and no anti-gaming laws.
Kentucky, you will be losing 5 residents and 2 tax payers due to your position on online gaming. Also it's a stupid "Common Wealth" state which makes it even more backwards and ignorant than you can ever imagine. Anyone know what a Common Wealth state is? Or what it even means? Sounds kind of socialist to me; i.e. what is yours is mine and what's mine is mine type of deal? LOL
Recently Carbon Poker closed my account and took what little I had on there due to my states online gaming laws!!! B.S
When I contacted them about my accounts balance they tried to say they couldn't send me the $ because it was illegal!!! It sure wasn't a problem when I registered my account and deposited though, and that was after black Friday btw. Thanks for nothing Carbon and Uncle Sam.
For a free country, myself and many others are beginning to question why we the people are told what to do and how and when we can do it!! Doesn't sound very free to me. Were I'm from if it walks like a duck and talks like a duck, its a duck damn it! We need a little 1775 here in the U.S again.

If the USA is one Nation under God like it claims to be then all 50 states should be allowed to play online poker.

I don't get into politics too much (just too ugly and I want to end up punching them all) but after watching the video it seems pretty promising that this is moving in the right direction. If they can make this happen, it'll be like Christmas morning for everyone here in CC and more...

Any states other than New Jersey, Nevada, and California? Just wondering cause that's all I've heard about. I'm from ALabama and don't think it will happen in 10 years here.

Here in Massachusetts there is plenty of support but it seems like they don't want to get the headlines.
As soon as New Jersey moves, I expect Mass to follow suit.
