Caesars stock (CZR) was up almost 10% today because the launch of online poker in NJ is going pretty well for them so far.

But Sheldon Adelson, CEO of Las Vegas Sands, and 11th richest person in the country, says he will spent whatever it takes to stop online gambling for "moral" reasons. Link here: http://www.forbes.com/sites/nathanv...kes-to-stop-online-gambling/?partner=yahootix

What a jerk. Its high time this country got out of its draconian ways. The government needs to stop telling people how to spend their hard earned dollars. I think legalizing online gambling will prove to be quite helpful in getting us out of this economic slump.

I sure hope Chris Christie runs for president in 2016. He may too moderate for many hardcore, tea party republicans, but he is hugely popular here in NJ, even with minorities which is something republicans arent usually good at. Christie is tough and straightfoward, but he is the type that will get stuff done, like legalizing poker.

Wow if he really knew how much tax revenue could come from online poker if it was legalized and taxed the correct way. I can't believe he would want to spend so much to shut something down that people enjoy. Theres more good he can actually do with that money than waist it on a meaningless battle.

This old fart's in the casino/gambling business and he wants to get on his high horse and preach about the "immorality" of online poker. He made the decision not to pursue OLP in his business, and now that other people are making money off of it he can't stand that.

bc he donates to republicans who like to live a fantasy on their moral high horse, often while they are doing exactly what they are fighting against. Who cares what people do with their money in the privacy of their own home lol

he is a hugeeee donor to the RNC

"The Washington Post revealed that he had hired an army of lawyers and lobbyists to try to convince Congress to ban online gambling"

Hmm trying to buy congress through lobbyists... He seems to be full of moral fiber to me...
