Really good article. Nothing earthshaking though, but it is interesting to hear how BF affected different players, their families, and poker-related businesses.

The most intriguing thing to me was that one player moved to Costa Rica to play since he couldn't get into canada because he had a DUI. WTF. It's Canada. I thought that AT LEAST 3/4 of the population was soused at any one time:eek: :p .

I think, if nothing else, it is a good piece for non-poker players to read. If they do not know already, Maybe they will start to realize just what the American Government is becoming, a regime that resembles the KGB and Nazi organizations much more so than the Freedom Loving country we started with.

I mean, is it that much of a stretch to imagine the not-to-distant-future where the police are coming to your door to make sure you are not playing online poker?

Agree. This would be a really good, informative article for people who aren't into online poker, or maybe have only heard rumours about it. It would show them on a more personal, relateable level how the current situation is affecting everyone.

Unfortunately, I see the current situation actually getting worse before it (hopefully eventually) gets better. On the downside, this is the US. I'm sure if online poker ever becomes fully legal and regulated that it'll be taxed so heavily that virtually no one will be able to turn much of a profit. Sad to say, but I think we have a long, tough road ahead before widespread online poker comes back to the US in any meaningful form.

Based on what? The fact that the Republicans created this mess?

You think the likes of a Santorum will be pro-poker? Or are you thinking Ron Paul really has a chance? Because he's the only pro-poker candidate left in the race.

--Really liked the article, though I doubt anyone not involved with online poker would read past the first page--unfortunately.

We don't like soused persons driving around and killing and hurting people....
