While Vayo needed to be a bit more aggressive he did showcase traditional
poker strategy and skillsets. Nguyen's aggression and seeming disregard for traditional poker strategy is, I think, great for business. I think viewers got to see two vastly different poker styles heads up and for rec players I think Nguyen shows (at least on the surface) that you can be reckless, aggressive, and play lots of
hands to win big (even if long term you can't because you're not Nguyen). I think it'll spark new interest in poker which had been for a while after black friday had really gone back to analytical, math heavy, silent poker.
I also loved the show of sportsmanship both players demonstrated. That's good for poker in general and shows I think a better image to the general public.
Overall I thought it was a great public showing of poker at it's finest. Although I wish it wasn't going until like 5am est on a weeknight!
