Ever since the latest news of the government legalizing online gambling, I have been searching the internet for some information and/or predictions of when we may see this come to fruition?

I am also curious how people feel this will play out in terms of whether or not we will see new poker sites emerging from the casinos and/or if sites like pokerstars who treated everyone right will be allowed back into the market?

Thank you for your opinions and I appreciate your time.

I haven't found any information or even a predicted time table as to when we may see something real begin to happen and I can't handle full time Merge "Network" any longer! lol

I personally believe that PokerStars should without a doubt be allowed to resume US operations under the new Wire Act infrastructure with US based payment processors that are regulated and monitored.

No matter which site any of us may have played at PokerStars is the only one who made sure they were doing things the right way and took care of us when other sites could not.

The voices of so many people here within the poker community has done so much to make huge strides in the progression of legalizing online poker once again. I believe it is now our responsibility to voice our opinions on the behalf of PokerStars.

My prediction is that only Nevada and D.C. will have intrastate online poker by the end of the world as we know it. Many states will be in a slow process to 'evaluate' the possibility, but none will have gotten past committee. :(

Since Full-Tilt was bought out by a french company (from my understanding) and they say they will honor the depositers whose funds were seized I am anxious to join if they can get back into the USA market.

Ever since the latest news of the government legalizing online gambling

My opinion is this: Ain't happening, the government is still trying to figure out how to get their share of illegal gambling online. A rumor of
legalization is just a stall. The real deal is the money, and it always will be. Just ask a Rothschild or a Morgan..........how do we get a share.

peace

We have had it easy in the UK and I must admit I find the US position on this a bit confusing. I hope it gets sorted out soon so that all my US friends can get back playing where they want when they want.

I don't see poker stars or Full Tilt ever coming back to the uS, what sense would Black Friday make.......nope dc and nevada are involved now, gotta keep the competition out of the pie. I do wonder how the latest news affects making a deposit on Carbon.....should be easier now..right ???? since wire act does not include internet poker ??

That's interesting .. now if this new legislation would allow a site like Carbon to still do it the way they always have I believe that would defeat the purpose of black friday. Allowing a site like PokerStars to resume operations under legit terms and regulations is every bit of what black friday should have been all about. They put sites like Tilt and UB in their places as far as how they were mismanaging player funds and those sites payed a heavy price. PokerStars was the only site to prove itself worthy of even being in this market at that rate. Money money money is what it is all about anyway and where better to start than a proven market like PokerStars which most of the country would immediately jump right back into playing on.

I can see PS coming back to the US, they did pay off their players.
(I got mine)
Full Tilt is a real question mark.

As far as legal US sanctioned online poker, I doubt we see it till after the 2012 elections.

Apparntly from what i've read this is true, but the guy fronting the company (Bernard Tapie) was involved in a scandal involving a botched sale of Adidas...but was awarded $449 million as he was found to have been defrauded...He also served 6 months in jail for bribing players to throw a French first division soccer match....and was convicted of fraud in a scam involving the sale of a luxury yacht.
So i'm not convinced this is the right man to give me my money back ....If he does good for him.

Thoughts anyone? the merge network is the only network that is available in the states right now thats worth a damn, makes you wonder if the goverment doesn't have there hands on this? Like maybe they are expeirmenting and researching with merge?

I remember late in 2010 the Atlantis Internet Group (owners of Cake poker) were contracted to create an online poker network for the Indian casinos.

Is the Tribal Gaming Network up and running? And if so, wouldn't they be the first out of the box to be able to provide gaming outside of tribal lands to the rest of the US?

online future in us

only states like nevada and dc will be online with poker. All other states will have politicians in constant debate of whether to allow it and "protecting" the children and there will always be an ongoing fight with no resolution. if there is a resolution, i would be totally shocked. i dont ever see pokerstars or partypoker coming back either, but i would love it if they would. i just see the politicians and casinos doing whaterver they can to block pokerstars rentry back into the market.

i would not expect to get your ub money back. ub has no chance to come back to the market

It may take em more than a minute to iron out the details, but I belive it will happen not to far off in the future. The US gov. has to first figure out how to maximize the potential for capitol. (If they werent so greedy, it would have already happened, I'm sure..)
There is no way they are gonna sit on this for years. There is too much money to be made and they are sure to get theirs.
With IGT and Bally in the arena, I'm prone to say it shouldn't be too far away. They have the capitol to expand to all states on the drop of a dime which is a good thing.
I wouldn't be suprised to see it happen before the end of next year and probably even sooner. The government is aware of the $$$ potential and thats enough to convince me that, though its taking forever... it won't be all that much longer.
