In a recent update to the PS6/7 application players can now see their equity displayed on the table, on all-in confrontations.

Link to cardschat news article below, written/reported by our very own Elbert Pruitt (rifflemao)

PokerStars Rolls Out Equity Display to Controversy

What does everything think about this, as according to the article it seemed to stir up some discussions on other forums....so time for cc to weighin with our own discussions and thoughts on the new "update".

Can improve your own knowledge. But if you already knew it, it is a bad update. Fun players will know the equity of each hand now.

It may make looser players think twice about playing certain hands so it will only help weaker players.
Another poker stars effort to even out the odds and make it more difficult to make a profit.

I do not think it as that helps new or recreational players.. They continue to lose money, on ROI or win rate regulars it will not affect...
For new players it's just numbers , they not be able to make conclusions...

Agreed with you.. i am sure it will not make any difference with new Players . as it is already there in many poker sites as well as in live tv poker.. if anyone Think even after live tv poker showing allin % still not good poker , think again. we still continue to ve bad Players..

I think it is helpful to less experienced players as it shows you how often you're behind or ahead with the hands you're playing. And also allows you to match up hands and see how they compare.

Personally I think it's quite nice to see how your equity changes after each successive street.

It doesn't bother me that it will show now. What I find interesting is that many on 2+2 take their usual negative stance against this. Seems that the real curmudgeons go there to air their dirty laundry, and probably explains why many look negatively at them. Some people there seriously need to take a pill. To me, they just seem to think that the poker world should revolve around them.

At least there are some on there that are reasonable, so as to balance out the trolls.

Does not reading 2 pages on outs and equity does the same thing?
It only shows the equity after 2 players are AI, meaning that a bad player will se the equity after he makes the dumb move.
Anyway. pokerstars found a new way to attract more recreational players. It will not hurt the serious players.

I feel this brings an entertainment value to the tables for a lot of recreational players and certainly some additional excitement for them on the all-in situations. It alone is not going to key anyone into improving their game, players want to want to improve obviously and I think if it brings even a little more excitement to the tables then it's a value.....

although its a bigger heartsink to see your a 95% fav and then crash to 0 on the river when its put numerically in front of you lol.

i have mixed emotions on this one, it could improve the play of the fish, but i think it also gives more of a "sweat" watching the numbers

I think it is terrible update. If they wouldn't make it to display odds by default, it would've been okay. But now I don't see it encouraging recs to play, as they usually see that their hand is quite dead.

I totally forgot Pokerstars didn't already have this feature. I guess I got used to Carbon Poker already showing the win percentage chance. I don't think it really matters for the non serious poker players to see their win percentage during an allin showdown. Least I didn't notice anyone taking notes of it while playing on Carbon.

---
I think it's a good thing for Pokerstars, it makes it more entertaining for the casual players. There's nothing more funnier than seeing a 3 way heads-up allin and watching the win percentage go in favor of the person #1, then swaps to person #2, and then finally on the river it swaps 100% win for person #3.

Their money is already in the pot when they see the % so how does that effect anything....they don't know their hand is dead until they get it in and even without the % know if they are ahead or behind but at least the pretty numbers would give them something to look at while probably losing their stack lol.

I don't think it will impact anything, it might probably reassure some of the fish that constantly get it in behind because they will see wow my crap hand has that many %'s i wonder how bad I can shove it and still have a chance to win lol.

This. Most of the recreational players play for "luck". And when they suckout they have an orgasm. We all had been there when we started. Even though they see the numbers, they do not give it a moment to think why the numbers are against them. They put it on bad luck not on their opponent skill.
