If they are banning 3rd party software, they must have seen definitive abuse and/or a significant disadvantage to Pokerstar's bottom line... hmmm

It must be about player retention, bcause they know that the more that are playing, the more that they make.

This will definitely help casual players. I would like to see the statistics on how this plays out...

Yes, I believe the same.

I think the regulars thinks it won't hurt, will be the old-fashioned way to catch fish on good lure))).programs often make you not think about the problems, read-play-win.and if you find yourself offline, what will you do?there are no scripts.they will rebuild.and fish and so seen at the table).

Its about time they did this. Been a thorn in the side of new players for a long time. Truthfully I would love for them to ban the charts too... Imagine you were playing live and some clown pulled out a push/fold chart in front of you... He'd be laughed out of the room, but online people rely on tools instead of learning the information. Not that I don't research charts or other forms of info, of course I do. But would not use such a crutch during the actual game.

Hello, I think so.
Maybe it 's the same software, or a similar one, which use spin4play.
I believe esta That is fine measure, Because it will protect casual gamers of sharks.

And I agree with lotharMcDowner, if a player is so good, does not have to be looking statistics of their rivals at the tables, maybe I should worry about seeing their statistics and from there, improve your game.

It seems to me that if they wanted to ban them, they would have done it a long time ago. I think bots help PokerStars to be always active and they are not in a hurry to remove them.

Offline game is based on yourself.
Online games are software based. If you are a shark, you will still find fish, but the chances of the fish will be slightly higher.

I think it is, novovedenie will improve the performance Poker of the Stars, yet the people themselves should read and follow the opponent, not a program, and by the way, I did not give permission to collect information about me and pass to a third party, I'm gonna sue for hold'em Manager and will sue you for 2 000 000$

I read the article , also the pokerstars' link on it for the programms/software allowed or not . What a mess , trying to figure out nowadays what is ok and what is forbidden , and this list change very often .
Some charts , also , are not allowed :confused: , I am not sure ,I think you don't have an edge with these , cause everyone can aquire them for free on the internet , and you are the one who makes the final decisions (I don't use one but I would if I found a good one ). But AI/software/bot programms is another story , I am fully against them .

Personally I think this is good news , but much too better or perfect imo it would be if they forbade all software or AI helping tools . Someone has one tool , sb the other , another no software , it's really unfair . Let's just play poker , all other tools (maybe with the exception of the charts) imo are cheating tools , giving an edge that makes very hard for fish , novice players that are not familiar with technology/new poker softwares , or the new players -whom every poker room wants too much- to have a fair chance on this game :)

imo .

I didn't know that charts are forbidden in live poker , nice to have this info :)

I don't think you get so much of an edge with charts so as for these not to be allowed , but if they were to ban every chart for everyone , well no problem . But all and for everyone . Not the one is ok , the other no , another only offline :confused::confused:

I think its a good idea.. there are way to many ppl who just hunt for week players..
I mean.. its great for the daily grinder to make a living.. but giving the fish a bigger pond to play in will increase the number of casual player's and be just better for all the good players in the long run..no?

Definitely for anything that limits bots and even most tracking software. I kind of think it takes away from the fairness of the game. Mostly the scripts, especially because they target new players or players just rising to those limits which kills the next crop of players. Probably why PS is banning them :)

Seating script software which helps sharks target the fish will no longer be allowed at PokerStars.

Do you think the change would protect the casual poker player?

PokerStars Makes Move to Protect Casual Players, Officially Bans Seating Scripts and Other Tools

about time if you ask me.. and obviously, yes. now they have to actually look at the tables themselves to find the fish.. but, if anything, it'll make them better sharks in the long run :p

a less lazy shark eats more fish, imo
