Wow. I'm from New Jersey and I've been in Revel quite a few times before. It is REALLY nice....which is why it's sad to see that it is doing so bad. That said though, I actually kind of had some foresight into this happening because every time I would go into Revel, I would go up to the poker room and it was EMPTY. No one played poker there. Why? I don't know. Even the table games are pretty empty at Revel. It seems like the only thing there that isn't empty are the slots, which take up probably 80 % - 90 % of the casino grounds and the craps tables which are always $5.00 minimum bet, which is actually kind of hard to find in Atlantic City.

Revel is the latest hot/trendy hotel/casino in AC. Really surprised here their poker room is getting very little action. Probably not doing a great job at marketing it.

Nothing brings money in faster than the machines. The rake on poker is small and it takes much longer to accumulate. Most card players are intelligent enough not to give up the odds the casinos gets on their edge.

I guess they aren't doing a great job of marketing ANYTHING for Revel then. Every time I've gone in there the crowd is practically non-existent.

Strangely enough, I actually think that their lack of business may actually be due to where they are located on the boardwalk. They are waaaaaaay down the end. It's not like Uptown, with Harrah's and the Borgata. Honestly I feel like if you go that way, you are going to visit just one casino. On the other hand though, if you go towards the boardwalk, most of the casinos from Showboat down to Resorts and then from Bally's down to Trump Plaza are practically right next to each other. Revel is a good walk down the boardwalk from the Showboat though, and there isn't much in the way of entertainment on the boardwalk on the walk from Showboat to Revel.

I gotta agree that the location isn't the best but aside from that its well know how the casino's are hurting in AC so I guess it only makes sense that the newest one is having a hard time.

This reminds me of the beginning of a poker documentary I was watching the other day. It talked about how most casinos didn't have poker rooms, or they were shutting down the poker rooms up until 2003 when Moneymaker happened. Its crazy how close poker was to dying even a few years prior to the BOOM.

I was actually just at Revel this past Wednesday (August 14). I wish I had been thinking of CardsChat when I went in there, because I would've taken a photo that I would've posted here.

The poker room in Revel is GONE. No tables left where they used to be. Nothing but an empty room. Kind of sad :(

The world economy is not good and so the poker economy is suffering too.

Guarantees are going down in almost every site except pokerstars.
