"... attempting to count cards.... at an amateur level" I figured that is exactly what casinos wanted! Amateur attempts, geesh!

I think he got what was coming to him.
Everyone knows that card counting gets you banned from a casino so it should not have come as a surprise.
It is the equivalent of refilling your draft beer glass when the server turns his/her back.

When you are playing blackjack and countin cards, then play either short sessions and they can never catch you, or try to go with big whales and they won´t kick you out ´cause they do not want to lose these big whales who bet way more than you :) So make friends with the big whales !

They don't ban based on the method you are losing, they ban on results. It is hard to prove that you can count well enough to win big, and just as hard to prove you are not counting when you do win big. It is all based on your results. You win too much you are out.

I just don't understand how there is any other way to play Blackjack....I always keep a running count....it would be dumb not to know where you're at in the deck when deciding your bet size. What? We're not supposed to calculate our equity in the deck and make intelleigent decisions based on that equity? Why play then? Are we supposed to play with the casinos interests in mind or our own interests? I don't get it! Is it also against the rules to lie back and watch somebody feed thousands of dollars into a cold slot machine then slide in when they walk away and max bet the hell out of when it's ripe to pay? Just can't figure that out....How else is there to play Blackjack if one doesn't consider card frequencies and bet size?

Card counting isn't illegal. They should of just banned him from the BlackJack tables instead of the poker tables.

It's their casino, they can/will do what they please. I think it's part of a program to discourage counting, so it makes sense from their POV.

Casino will do anything to stop a Player to win, but instead ll do everything themselves to cheat players

Right, except for the part about "cheating"....they openly admit they have an edge in every game available, so why play?

I think he got what was coming to him.

Uh, well, actually it is nothing at all like that. That is stealing, counting cards is skilled gambling the casinos tend to frown on...two entirely different things.

Play for fun, and expect to lose....

Are they supposed to just accept people having an edge on them?

They have costs that need to be paid (staff, financing, liscensure, taxes, etc), so they cannot just throw their hands up and concede to the players.

It's a cat and mouse game.

Nope because that doesn't matter.. Slot machines are on a Random number Generator. Your odds of winning don't go up just because it hasn't hit in awhile. Just like your odds of winning don't go down after you hit a jack pot.

It's kind of like flipping a coin 10 times, sure its not likely to be heads 10 times in a row but just because you get to the tenth flip and you've already had 9 heads in a row this flip is still 51%/49%

Intolerable! Winning at blackjack must be stamped out. Anyone that can count to 10 should be banned, never mind being able to count cards.

The casinos should just have a donations box at the end of each BJ table and their players can just drop their cash in and save the time and effort of actually playing cards.

A good way to never get accused of counting is to be drunk. I can keep a decent running count even while I'm drunk and out of practice. Mind you all that the last time I played I lost lol.

If casinos dont want to lose money against card counters they can take lots of measures to prevent that.
they could just ban card counting and make it totally illegal which i completely disagree because counting cards requires skill and thats not cheating. they can also remove blackjack from the casinos, or they can make some adjustments to the game to make card counters lose the edge they have like paying less money for the blackjack for example.

Is that for real or is it supposed to be sarcastic?

Yes, just like we have to accept the edge they have.

They have costs that need to be paid (staff, financing, liscensure, taxes, etc), so they cannot just throw their hands up and concede to the players.

It was their choice to be in business, so costs are part of that, that is what profits are for.

When I play in my local MTTs I always make my way to the blackjack table following the poker session, cash or not. My rule is I risk whatever the BI was for the previous tournament with the goal of retrieving my BI. When I first moved to Nevada I only played single deck and was very successful with this strategy.

I have since been notified by a poker room manager friend that was on managements radar and should be careful. I now only play the shoe with the same goal.

instead of keeping a running count I simply limit my time at the table and do major bet bumps when (if) the ranged comes. Then get my ars out of there as soon as my Bi is retrieved.

I track all my play and this works out 67ish % of the time.
