Do you mean on the player side or the client side?

I would say on client side it is very possible but bad business

Sure... it runs on computers.
Computers can be hacked.

But I doubt it happens as You
could make alot more money
if You have the required skills
if You use them to hack a bank
or a government...

There can be poker bots playing at the table. Also, sites have been exploited before, giving people access to everyone's hole cards etc. It's good to be cautious.

I can not answer this question, because neither online or live I am not profitable yet. But if you are profitable on live games and lose on line, ther's something wrong. 10% of all players is the average of winners. Someday I did already think like this too, but is non sense think the game is manipuladed and to continue playing. One thing is certain, poker online is a great tool to study, learn and improve your game.

It can definitely be manipulated by the poker room in many ways, if that's their goal.

They can introduce bots, tamper with the poker code, changing the probabilities for certain outcomes to, for example, favor more aggressive players, or staff players disguised as regular clients. These staff players, or even known pro poker players hired by the poker room to attract more people to join in, could also be able to see the other players hands, like supposedly happened in Ultimate Bet, which they used to call "God Mode" (if I remember correctly), etc.

There are cases of bots playing at tables at various poker sites. But there are a few cases already reported and their users banned and money confiscated. I have been suspicious of some players in a tournament that I participated, where the player instantly paid all bets, but ended up eliminating the same in the respective tournament. The funniest thing is that I was called bot just yesterday, just because I put in a good sequence of victory (also how not to play hands with AA, Ak, AJ, 10-10, Q-10) luck was by my side and had a player who insinuated that he was playing with bot.

Joe Ingram is a very respected poker player and he recently did a podcast with Doug Polk (also very respected, winning 2017 wsop) and they spoke about the manipulation that’s going on in America’s Card Room (ACR) over the past couple weeks. There are multiple accounts colluding on multiple tables with win rates of like 90% and only a few of the accounts have been banned.

So it is apparent that poker has been and can be manipulated.

What would be the incentive for the poker site?

There is no initial incentive for the poker site as they get paid via rake. However this leads some to the idea that the site will make unreal cards come up for players and crazy cards come up to make HUGE pots more often which = more rake in cash games, and more games being played in tournaments as they finish more abruptly which = more tourneys overall.

Yet more there is no proof of this, it is just conspiracy.

no

I do not think it's manipulative. The platforms already make thousands of dollars just because the thousands of customers sit at the tables. I do not see need for manipulation by the sites.

I put such questions oneself before i have joined to CC. The communicating and socializing reveals insights into poker anew for me. I made poker within the meaning of competition of the skills a key pillar of conception of the game itself. I can definitely say that I believe in poker math, its dispersion, expectancy etc. And it seems to me that the luck is a reflection of your level of poker math knowledge. Wouldn't you think?
