As a poker player and a voter, I am seeing something very disheartening to me during this cycle. It seems to me that the PPA isn't doing all they could be in the "Fight For Poker Rights", they need to make it a bigger issue and pressure candidates!

Pressure depends on the ability to help a candidate's election effort. Two ways to do this: Contribute money - like a PAC. Or, demonstrate that there are a number of active voters who care about the issue - the NRA approach.

Assuming that the PPA doesn't have significant funds, that leaves voter pressure. Who among us has contacted their elected representative lately? There is an active thread here on CardsChat that might be a good place to start.

Cheers!

Disclaimer: I'm not American. But I think you've only got to take one look at your situation with daily fantasy sports at the moment to see that the climate probably isn't quite right to push legalised poker.

You've got most of the media, public and authorities all up in arms about how they don't care whether something is a "game of skill", it's still gambling and they want something done about it. If DFS is in trouble then poker has no chance with that approach right now.
