Rich Muny and others have begun a Petition to Oppose the RAWA legislation banning online poker. We have 30 days from the start of the petition to get 100,000 signatures. If we get to 100,000 signatures, the White House will respond.

If you  online poker, please sign and share the petition with others. After you sign, be sure to verify your signature in the email that will be sent to you.

Thank you for your support!

That's a joke, a petition won't do squat because you will never get enough support to make it worthwhile, instead petition individual congressmen in your district, they will pay attention to constituents and not a bunch of random people from around the country.

We are petitioning individual congressmen daily with the Daily Action Plan. It is an ambitious goal, but if it's successful we can also show there's a large number of people who support online poker and don't want it banned in the US. We're hoping several other organized groups who support internet freedom and freedom in general that have already opposed RAWA will also set up and sign. It would be nice if poker players would also step up to support our own game.

I don't mind banning it if it is not regulated, I thought Full Tilt was sacrosanct, I was wrong. I get that you want it legalized and regulated, I'm down with signing that petition but these offshore casinos with no oversight is inviting disaster for your investment. Many here would disagree, I never questioned a cardroom or casino though....

An important distinction needs to be made here, one that is lost on the uninitiated. We are not trying to license and regulate offshore sites who flout US law already, and will gleefully continue to do so regardless of any new laws. What we are trying to do is allow for US companies, who follow regulations willfully in exchange for operating legally in the states.

The result will be that players will migrate to a safe, regulated site and no longer play on offshore sites flouting our laws, and potentially running off with your money. Enforcement is no longer an issue because these operators will have no customers in regulated areas

Signed.

I would also suggest that each of us handwrite/ type the same petition, sign and send it to your respectful legislator/ senator.

There are some politicians who pay little attention to mass produced and signed petitions. I have done both now.

Signed.

It really irks me that people who I pay with my tax dollars to do their job for their fellow citizens want to mettle with what quite frankly isn't any of their business.

Let's not kid ourselves here, this is about some big casinos and other companies having a few politicians under their wing keeping those politician's pockets full.

Fully legalizing and regulating online poker will be a boom for players and citizens. It'll be taxable and thus generate revenue, and it'll lead to a lot of fish swimming back to play.

At the end of the day I believe the "ban" will fall through, just as we see marijuana laws shifting.

Thanks everyone for supporting. The petition just hit 3,000 signatures this morning :)

I think we can do much better. This petition is a great place the poker community can show support in one area exactly how many people support online poker. It's not the only thing going on in this fight to prevent the ban, just one more way we can show support. Please sign and share on social media!
