When do you think the United States will allow legal online poker again?
I was hoping with the election of a casino owner that our chances would have improved. I'm doubtful though with all the other problems this country has,
What do you think will happen? Will online poker be legal in the United States sooner than later?

Thanks

It's going to take a while, probably like marijuana's progress. Here in GA we can't get legalized gambling so it will be a while before they consider legalizing online poker.
Many? Most? casino owners are against online poker because it takes away business from their buildings. Google Sheldon Adelson for an example.

Why can't a casino that's already up and running in the United States open and online poker site just wondering what's stopping them then they wouldn't be taking away from the casino they be adding to it

A part of me just tries not to think about it but then I go to check out a new poker room and get denied access because I'm a U.S. player and it all comes flooding back. It's damn frustrating and morally wrong. I love how people say they believe in Liberty and small limited government but then want to control what you do with your money and time. Poker is not a crime. I'm really tired of my government treating me like a criminal because I want to play a game. That's my rant for the day.:)

Ithink that most casino owners are against online poker. Not only does it take away from their profit at the tables but also cut's into their food, drink, and store's revenue.

It only makes sense to do so. It's no different than the stock market, the ultimate gambling site.

Maybe someday will be allowed to officially play all the games.
But you play it now.
Install the program Ultrasurf-VPN and spit on all the laws.

Well as an outsider looking im surprised that it havent legalize yet and im quite curious to as to why. Thought by now USA would be on board with such a venture and it can be beneficial tax wise for the government.Guess just have to wait and see overtime what happens

we are doing it one state at a time. so far only three states have legalized it
but about ten more are considering it. the gov. is still fighting us and we need more
people fighting back. please join the fight daily by sending pre-filled tweets to our lawmakers.
it takes about 5 min per day and it can help very much.

ps.... the reason America isn't free anymore is because people won't fight for their rights!!!

I am thinking that it is more of a state by state regulation type of thing.

I find it so funny and hypocritical of these casinos. Most don't do much for poker players..they keep downsizing poker rooms and replacing with slots saying poker doesn't bring much revenue. Yet when trying to get online legalized.....OH NOOOOOO! Not having any of that as it will cut into their revenue... WTF??

Yes I miss playing poker stars also. I live in "the baptist" state of Alabama. I'd be surprised if we get to play online poker again

In general, most likely, it will look like this: East coast. States such as Connecticut or Rhode Island may well get online poker themselves, but much will depend on how things are going in larger parts of the country. In any case, in the next three yearsIn general, most likely, it will look like this: East coast.

States such as Connecticut or Rhode Island may well get online poker themselves, but much will depend on how things are going in larger partConsidering the fact that Michigan burst out of nowhere from the pool, but could not pay any American state (well, probably, except for Utah). However, the problem is that most states have too little population. Operators are simply not profitable to go, as the number of clients will not cover costs. Therefore, these small states should be larger - New York, for example - but, as we have seen, everywhere there are their troubless of the country. In any case, in the next three years

that didn't translate well but yes it is hard for smaller states so I think they should all join together and pool their players.
but even if we got all the states it still sucks because I want to play against the world, not just freakin Americans !!

Very unlikely to happen in the communist states of America anytime soon until a leader who actually cares about freedom becomes president unlike our recent past leaders who are bunch of spineless minions including the one in office right now.

Interesting. I never thought about it this way.

Like someone else said it will likely happen slowly with most states eventually legalizing it. But I think it could take several more years.

I was excited to hear that Poker Stars was legalized in NJ, but then I read an article that said that the NJ players would not have access to the international players. That's disappointing, but at least its progress.

If I think too long about the good old days when I could play at Poker Stars I will get very sad. I mostly play MTT because I don't find the cash or SnG's to be as plentiful or lucrative.
