it is slowing down, networks/rooms must find some new solutions but I think that they are not interested...at the end there will be rooms with regs and without or with small number of recreational players

Lets hope this doesn't happen. It seems mad that online pokermay be most at risk when it is seeing so much business and capacity.

I really don't like the idea of rebuying into tournaments, cash games fine but not tournaments. I played my first MTT on partypoker on Sunday and there was only 1 buyin but I can't imagine what unlimited buyin would do to the tournament. If room decided to keep to freeze tournies I see that as a good thing, at least for my preferences.

I also don't like late registration, it would be nice to see how many players you are up against to figure out how much time you may need. I entered with 2 mins to go and there was 285 players, I thought ok I have the time and when I finally went out 4.5 hours later I see there was 1100 players in the tournament, crazy.

I guess if rooms want max avalability then later late registrations and max buyins is the way.

It's a scarey thought for sure. It'd be great to see them get rid of the mass re-entry tourneys... limiting them to maybe 1 re-entry.

PLUS 1 to this for sure.

I also definitely agree w/this and Mr. Leonard saying about too many ppl putting "a lot of eggs into fewer baskets"(or however he said it,lol) I too am one of those that find it hard to not click the re-enter button, especially after a bad beat from one of those "new" and terrible" players as you put it in your original post here. I can see how that is destroying people's BRs at all levels.

I really hope that online poker is not in danger! On the other hand, I understand that he needs a new impetus-- maybe a ban on third-party software (this will attract recreational players) or a game with web cameras to fight bots? I don’t know, but something new is very necessary!

I think there will be no collapse
but because of the end of the pandemic, there will be a sharp decrease in activity
many recreational players return to their main activity and work, most of the permanent ones will only remain and will create the main fields
I think so, unless of course I correctly understood the topic

I don't see a crash coming, so many players worldwide in micros, low and mid stakes.

Maybe higher stakes have a problem in a crisis.

I've heard that when times are bad, people gamble more...

Leonard highlights the problem with unlimited re-entry to MTTs. I think it's hard for newcomers to console their egos and they risk losing a lot of investment in such tournaments. Poker will end for them.

The guy is pissed off with rebuys policy and few overlays happening. This is not enough to crash the online poker game in my opinion. In other hand, several players here in my country (brazil) are saying this is by far the best time to play in the last years.

So after all... just opinions. The companies are very solid.

And they don't care about the professionals experience that much. Focus will be in recreational players and increase the gambling side little bit more here and there. So they can bring new players to the game and maintain them playing.

I think crash is a very strong word to use for this case . Ofcourse , this boom will end someday , it's unavoidable , this happens always in every everyday matter of life , economy etc . Poker is not an exclusion . Someday the crisis will hit it's peak , people will return t thei normal lives , less players will be online , sudden overlays will happen , but I think that will lsat very few days Good poker rooms do prepare for every scenario , so as to adjust accordingly the prisepools then , ans also prepare to sustain some of the losses they will face then , thanks to all the more rke they won theese poker boom days :)

Ofcourse ,if they do some good thigs , like forbiding the too many reentries , or improving the quality of the servics provided , or the quality of the tournaments or games on the lobby , tha would help the poker environment and industry a lot , so as this crash never to come , hopefully :) The advice nowadays to players not to play recklessly , but with cution or BRM , serves this purpose :)

With all the respect for him, I don't like or trust opinions of one of the trend-setters of stables in online MTTs, thanks to him there are tons of them nowadays.

I see a major slowdown coming in the very near future. With that being said, online poker probaly pick up a small percent of people who really like it and will continue to play, overall from pre to post pandemic online poker the real question is what will the growth be. I would guess 10%. I am sure the numbers we have seen over the last several months was greatly enjoyed by the folks who profit off their websites, but I am also sure they knew it would not last forever. They probaly already have plans on how to keep as many as they can knowing most will go back to live because in general, people do not trust online poker.

No, online poker is not going to fail. Beginning players and some who are not so beginners, lose a hand in the river and are already bots, everything is fixed and they publish it on the networks. Let your imagination run wild and everything turns black. I think that all the major poker houses invest a lot of money to prevent all kinds of fraud. Online poker has been around for many years.

I agree with him in many parts "idea that tournament times are saturated" another part "unlimited re-entry is making people break faster" I agree that changes are necessary but I find it very difficult to fail online poker

It's going to crash sometime in the future and it should rebound again just like the stock market it goes up one day and down the next.

cyber bullying...

I think that in these times of crisis, you can speculate on anything, they take advantage of the situation and they need to talk about issues to get out of the situation we are experiencing today.
Online poker is never going to end, as not everyone has money left over to go to live tournaments. And what better to participate in international tournaments without leaving your own home.:):D:p

I sure hope not.. But I bet the big guys would survive. 888 had some connection issues for a while back in March/April, but has been running great lately :)

Might slow the growth..

If online poker has growth spurts, and slowdowns, that is part of the normal business cycle: 1-rapic growth 2- slower growth 3- stasis 4 slow decline 5- treminus.

Going forward there is a core: some don;t live near a casino or poker room. Others, online is a great diversion, they don't play for the money.

I think online poker is "Stay home!" due to which it lasts for a long time. I hope at least. When "Stay Home" is over, max returns to the old system.

Anyone who has played so far will still play, but anyone who started out of boredom may even like it.

I think there will be those who stay, there will be those who go.

Is online poker going to crash?
I hope it does not happen, for example in my country casinos are prohibited, it would be a tragedy for me to end online poker
