Translation: I'm against it, but if you have it, I should run it.

Consider the Tulalip Tribes in Washington state: Eight months ago, tribal secretary Glen Gobin told Congress that the Tulalips opposed any kind of Internet gambling, regarding it as a threat to their two casinos.

But on July 26, he told a Senate panel that tribes now "must have equal footing to participate" and that Congress should consult with them before junking a 2006 ban against online gambling.

...favored by Gobin and many other tribal officials, would leave the oversight to the National Indian Gaming Commission, the federal agency that regulates the gambling operations of 237 tribes. It's headed by Tracie Stevens, a member of the Tulalip Tribes appointed in 2010 by President Obama.

Gobin is part of one of the lobbying groups who's purchase of state Rep Prentice made playing of online poker a FELONY in Washington State.

Oops. ;)

Shocked... tell you I am shocked... err okay I'm not. Where there is money to be made the change in opposition will make the naive head spin... But me, I'm a cynic so this is just expected. Now that the brick and mortar casinos getting into online gaming technology should be short wait for legalization.

I will not play at any of thier sites if they do get involved. They have already gotten all I'm going to give them. I started playing online poker (I never played any kind of poker before) just to give myself something to do besides go to the indian casinos and donate at the slots! I have saved thousands of dollars since and don't have any desire to give them any more of my money. I hope like he double l that they are unable to get thier hooks in it!!!!!

don't know if its a tribal thing, but it might be an american thing, today.

our leaders have been showing us for 3 decades that waffling on issues, shifting with the wind, choosing what is easy over what is right, is not only OK but is the smart thing to do.

anyone else saddened by how little consistency of morality or ethics is on exhibit today?
