I voted AGAINST this CRAP...

its only more of what this country has turned into...

the politicians make deals with special interests .

I live in western ny and this legislation doesn't apply to this part of the state because politicians made a deal with the indian casinos not to infringe on their casino territory.
I am all for legalizing gambling ...but to politicize it and dole out casino rights to some and exclude others is fcking bullsht

Good news for us NY'ers

Now once we have the legal casinos in place... hopefully we can hop into that online pool with NJ NV and DE!

:shakehand

not to rain on your sunshine but a new site came out today, from CA but aimed towards all NA players, mainly USA. This site is legit... it's like iPoker. Only it's not that network, it's very small and a new network off of a certain merge company. it's legit. not going to say the name in public. if u wanted to know just pm me.

As with most legislation there are plusses and minuses to this one. The biggest factor for my vote for it was the amount of revenue that NY is currently losing to the PA/NJ casinos. I have taken my poker $$ into PA a number of times where I wouldn't have if a NY casino was closer. Competing against the existing casinos wasn't in the states best interest so I can appreciate the compromise especially since it should help in other revenue areas the state is negotiating with the tribes on (tobacco & fuels). My area may get a license (Tioga Downs) and this may spell the doom of our local club but I can live with that.

Same with an area right near I live. There is a underground poker room that is literally 2 minutes from my house. I however would rather drive 30 mins to Saratoga and play at a legit place myself.

I am just excited because NY can enter the legal online poker arena in a few years hopefully.

I wish Kentucky would do the same :( Instead all the (Gambling) money is given to the state of Indiana, yet lottery and horse betting is ok? Seems like a contradiction if you ask me!!!

Happy for NY!!!
