Welcome news! I'm surprised there isn't more excitement around this, maybe because there is no date set yet when it will be available? Hopefully once a few more states go there will be a bit of an avalanche and real regulated decent sized player pool online poker will be back in the US.

This sure is welcome news, especially if you live in Pennsylvania!

I'm tentatively looking forward to it. On one hand it'll be nice to play on a fully regulated and secure site (and if it's true 888poker is backing one of the new PA sites, it'll be exciting to go on a site so heavily advertised (and so soft I've heard). On the other hand, I've played on pokerstars NJ when in that state and the site is ok but traffic is low, so if they merge player pools across states I'll be much more interested. Also I'm concerned about losing access to great sites like Bovada if the state pushes to block those sites.

But overall great news for poker and whenever it does go live here I'll check it out.

I haven't read up on any of these new state online sites. So I'm taking it that you must be in the state the site is registered on to play? That's a bummer because I'd love more online options. But I'm definitely not moving to PA or Jersey anytime soon..

I guess I'll research this some and see what other states have these.

WooHoo!!! I am from Pennsylvania, and the latest news is that PokerStars has teamed up with a Mt. Airy Casino- which also has some agreement with 888 ??? Pretty confusing but PokerStars claims it will be 1st to launch ??maybe early 2019

Harrahs' is also going to be bringing wsop brand of online poker, again not sure if we will join player pools from Jersey and Vegas.

The news is still confusing since 3 applications have been granted but more are in process?? Just like always with Government! Some steps in the right direction for PA.

What remains unclear, at least in everything that I have read so far. They have not declared what the player pools are going to be, that is going to be an issue if they keep Pa. isolated from international???
I would love to play on 888, but if it only includes players from Pa. - Not so much
same goes for Pokerstars, I know WSOP (Harrahs) has talked about including all states ?? that they currently serve.

If anyone knows more than what has been in the news please post. I am getting anxious, especially since Stars claims they can go "live" by 1st part of 2019

I grew up and am from PA. Pretty good stuff for the poker community there. I just wish I still lived there haha...Here's to hoping Florida is next!

I hear ya on limited player pools but at least it would be a foot in the door. I'm sure once more states jump on board things will loosen up. The US is missing out on sooooo much taxable income from online poker...

Even though I don't live in Pennsylvania I think this is still a really good development. Eventually it'll get to most states, hopefully just need a few more states to get the ball rolling.
