Glad I'm not on welfare, but does this apply to people in IL that go over to St. Louis to play poker because I do know some people that will hate this if it applies to them.

state sponsered crap like scratch offs should be banned before they limit casino use....50% payback is theft and abuse of mainly the poor.

let them have some fun wth ...

dont you love it when states take the morale high ground. coarse they have no trouble selling lotto tickets and sctratchoffs which are bought in abundance by the poor.
please dont get me wrong, i am allin for states to curb my tax dollars...err... their much needed benefits from hitting the penny slot machines.

Makes some sense. Know some people who are on welfare and complain they never have money...are also alcoholic, smoke, gamble, and otherwise spend money with their priorities messed up.

I think this is a great idea, along with the drug testing for people on welfare.

I,m not sure what I think of this yet . Is a little big brother watching, type of thing, but I do understand the reasoning behind it .Probably will be ways for them to get around it also.

Some people need a big brother. Especially parents that are on welfare that would rather gamble or buy drugs than take care of their kids. I'm a big brother, if my lil brother was one of these people I would straighten his ass out, and that's the plan here.

Not sure how they would control it... I've never had a slot machine ask for an ID before I put money in....if it required a players card, then use one of your friends card.

I heard social security benefits were now being either direct deposited or put on a prepaid card. If funds from welfare were limited to a prepaid card of some sort, I suppose you could have more control over where the card is used. I'm sure if people try hard enough though they could find ways around it - I dunno, but yea I'm not sure how to control it otherwise.

i see it all the time here in kentucky. a lot of people receiving state assistance use alcohol and strung out on drugs. and they play poker at the pool room and 95% of the time they go broke. i know that a few of those people do qualify for welfare, but g-dammitt a LOT of them are more able to work than i am, and that burns my azz. the only time i get to play poker at the local pool room{the closest place for live poker} is when i have a little cash left AFTER the bills are paid.which isnt often.
