Did "The Mouth" just hear about this? Wonder if we can get his thoughts on the Civil War? :D

He just started a podcast and this was in his first episode. So, he probably brought it up because he knew it would make poker news and garner attention to his podcast.

Mike Matusow shed light on what went down at Full Tilt Poker leading up to the 2011 Black Friday scandal. The former FTP pro defended Chris Ferguson, and referred to him as a “good guy”. Do you share Mike's viewpoint?

Mike Matusow: Howard Lederer to Blame for Full Tilt Scandal, Chris Ferguson a ‘Good Guy’

Why did Matusow wait until now to say anything? We'll probably never get the truth, if it hasn't been exposed by now.

Well, I had a significant amount of money on FT and pokerstars. I got paid by PS immediately, and took almost 5 years to get my $$ from FT (they even tried to short me). Only got the FT money because PS stepped in and took the hit. These guys are NOT rich, they are not great businessmen, they are just great poker players. Most of them are living on a bankroll budget. The only ones who are truly wealthy are Negreanu, Hellmuth, Chan, Brunson and a few others. And even they made the bulk of their money by endorsements and sponsorships. Many of the rest of the well known players share equity with each other (hard to beat variance in live games otherwise). Anybody who buys any product because some famous person endorses it is a fool IMO. Anybody that plays poker on a site run by professional gamblers is insane! You want real life poker advice, play for fun, play within your means, don't loan ANYBODY money in the gambling world (stake is ok) and don't think you will win over time. It's all about paying your dues, and when you do get the big cash, immediately putting it in savings or safe investments. Do not start buying into $1500 tourneys because one time you binked a $100k tourney.

For the 1st time ever

I cannot believe I am saying this, but I probably agree with Mike the Mouth on FTP. FTP is the only site that ever busted me on a real roll I deposited. I could not win there if my life depended on it. My graph there looks like I chip dumped at MTT (ridiculous). It is only site I did not withdraw some profit from. I was even + a few $ at Stars. 159% Av ROI at Cereus, 74% Av ROI at Betonline, -42.5% ROI at Full Tilt Poker. Either something was off or I found all variance at 1 website. LOL

It is obvious that the managers of the room conducted their business with violations and the fault of all this was the misuse of the company's funds ...

Not sure if I understand what you're saying here...
You agree with Mike the Mouth on FTP & then suggest 'something was off or I found all variance at 1 website'

fwiw, FTP was having difficulty getting US players deposits processed but were still allowing them to play with said funds (that weren't even taken from their banks, etc.).. in hopes of having it turn around 'soon'. That & continuing to pay people like Mike a ridiculous amount of money was what led to their demise.

It's a shame really. Personally I thought they had the best site ever (still to this day).

I totally agree that the FTP software was and IS still the best (if it was ever purchased by another operator and rebranded). PokerStars' software is solid, though with the laptop I have, the Aurora Graphics Interface doesn't run particularly well on my machine. I play on ACR as well, and that software is just a total resource hog on my machine. Again, an upgrade would cure my issues.

But, for my money, FTP software was the best in its day, and it's sad that it's been approximately 5-6 years since we've been able to play a hand on that platform.

FWIW, whenever Mike prefaces anything he says with "I know this for a fact", I think you have to take it with a grain of salt. Sure, Mike lives inside the Poker world, and undoubtedly should know more than us average folks, but at the same time, it's hard to feel that he's telling the truth anytime he speaks.

Chris Ferguson and Howard Lederer are crooks, should have been banned from wsop and spent sometime in prison. That's my opinion, but as Dennis Miller says, "I could be wrong." :)

I agree with most of what you said man. Bottom line, a serious business cannot be run by a gambler (s).
Great advice too, thx.
