I'm ambivalent about "legalization" on a state by state basis. Its nice for people to be able to play on pokerstars again, but it will only be against a segregated player pool, not the rest of the world (in Michigan only or maybe including the few other states that have it too).

A step in the right direction. Michigan becomes the 6th state, West Virginia also passed a law earlier this year. My guess is a couple more states per year will legalize up to a certain point, leading to a standstill until it gets legalized nationally. I firmly believe it will happen eventually, just a matter of when.

Another update just read Grand Traverse Bay Indians are going to sign on with poker stars to provide online poker. i am glad somebody is making a move.

Eventually, people only from Michigan will be able to play against (or with) one another on PokerStars.
At least until they can pool with other states.
Pennsylvania had recently launched PokerStars in their state but has not pooled with other states as of yet. (Nevada, Delaware and New Jersey can currently play together.)
