That's not fair for the poor Max getting kicked off on his first hand with a set of Kings if that happened to me I will need several pshycho therapy cessions to get over it a 10k Buy in and you get crushed with Aces on your first hand it's just a nightmare.

That takes big balls to play the first hand with an all-in. Either very stupid with 10k on the line or ...no stupid.

It's so sick, nothing you can do about it. It's just a bad run and you must play that hand

86% of the time, this story would be "Max Stienberg doubles up in first hand of wsop ME against idiot who overbet shoved KK PF".

Wow, from 1.2k to 45k is just nuts. If that doesn't happen I think Max could get away from it.

What a great lesson for those who always whine about online poker being rigged! :D
I agree with this LOL..... in a way seeing something like that happen live makes us feel a little bit better about it happening everyday online:D

Nothing you can do here....better to have it happen the very first hand
then for it to happen at the end of day 2.

It's unlucky but if he was running that bad at least the tournament was quick for him. Instead of playing for 2-3 days and getting nowhere.

Nice positive spin, I would not like to burn ten grand in one hand though

Ugh, that sucks. Tournaments are about survival, but with AA....nothing else you can do. I'd probably put my opponent on KK or QQ...and still call, knowing I have the advantage most of the time.

Oh well.

Must be nice to play in a 10k tournament where your opponent 4 bets shoves pocket kings for that many blinds:D Max will be fine. :)

I agree. The guy with KK got lucky he doubled up for raising so much so fast, otherwise, he probably had won much less in that hand. Max basically had to go allin at that point, because who folds AA preflop against one opponent in the first hand of a tournament?

It's terribly difficult to go straight with that hand, but you want a vision. This time, he was unlucky, but in the long run it provokes itself.

I can't even imagine the feeling. I still keep a solid poker face when someone goes allin when I'm holding Aces because I know there's about a 20% chance that I will still lose. :(
