Unfortunately, I don't think there is any other course of action.

Handling/passing chips from one person to another in a close environment is a frightening scenario - actually one of the worst set ups for spreading the virus. Until they manage to flatten the infection curve through social distancing I can't see how any casino can stay open.

Apparently, Playground Poker near Montreal closed down Friday night. I think poker rooms are the first places that should be closed in an attempt to control the spread of pandemic viruses. The handling of chips and cards by multiple (potentially hundreds) of different people each day is a disaster waiting to happen under these circumstances.

I played a home game last night. It will probably be the last one for a while. I hadn't seen some of these guys in years. We all joked about how not shaking hands is ridiculous since we were about to touch the same chips and cards, again and again, for hours. :(

Five major Los Angeles poker rooms have made the decision to temporarily cease gambling operations due to the coronavirus pandemic. Commerce, along with The Bike, Gardens Casino, and Hollywood Park, released a joint public statement.

Los Angeles Area Poker Rooms Shutting Down in Wake of Coronavirus Pandemic

Wow! I am surprised.

I assume it is to protect their employees and not the players?

Man, I wish they would do this for every pandemic!!

Wait....can't we all just have our own table?

Looking forward to re-openings.
