I'm trying to understand our online poker here in the US.
So we have been cut off from poker for about 12 years because of a banking law that was passed.

I do not understand how we can play at America's Card Room, Ignite and others now. Shouldn't all the other sites like Paradice, UB, Poker Stars etc also be able to provide games for "us" just like these other sites do? Aren't they all about the same in the eyes of the Law?

Now I did not mention Global Poker in this list as it is a Sweeps stake site and works differently.

I placed money from my bank in ACR and others and play them just like poker rooms of the past. Why are these different than the other sites I mentioned?

Thanks

ACR is unregulated so basically its play at your own risk. Just gotta sit tight until pokerstars comes back which now its at your own state's digression so we are sitting tight in California which i'm sure will be the last state to bring it back.

The restrictions vary from state to state. It's not the same nation wide.

Most states don't allow a person to open their own online poker site business. This is the case in North Carolina for sure. There's a guy on Twitch who streams his BetOnline action and others.

In Nevada, we're only allowed wsop.com. It's owned by Caesars. All other poker sites inform us that real money play is not allowed in our area.

Some states are tight about online poker; some aren't.

Poker rooms such as ACR, BetOnline, ignition, Interops, etc are highly unregulated in comparison to the biggies like PokerStars & 888.

Taking PokerStars as an example, they want the business that the US can provide them. They follow every State and Federal law out there. In fact, due to Washington State law of prohibiting any online poker at all, including downloading the software, it is impossible to play in that State at all. PokerStars will not allow you to download the software to play with play chips in home games.

PokerStars has a long-term investment when it comes to the US. ACR and others do not. They do not care and are after the short-term profits any way they can get them.

I'm also confused as to what limits a state's discretion for allowing an online poker site to function, therein. I'm in Texas and the only loophole we are given is if the site is based/rooted outside of the continental U.S./north America. such as rooms ending in .eu or .ag. I googled our gaming laws once and this is the only positive sentence I could find.

I don’t understand why US players are forbidden to play poker? Although this is your game, you come up with it. We are also forbidden to play in Russia, but everyone plays and has no problems with the law.

Well said. It will come back at some point. Just have to risk it at these sites until then. If you are a winning player, I would only keep what you need to play from on the site. The rest I would pull off as soon as you make it. I had a 5 figure bankroll on Fulltilt, and made withdrawls on a regular basis. I hardly lost anything when the site went belly up.

& with the sites being unregulated I personally feel as if the RNG's are "not the greatest" theres been many cases where the sites do shady things and theres nothing we can do about it, we just have to deal with what we can get. Hopefully 1 day we will be bale 2 play with the worldwide player pool again but I dont see it happening any time soon.

I'm not sure how the issue of blockade works, but it's really a shame the time of it takes for the Poker returns for u country of origin be so long, Pokerstars have been trying, but it's all very bureaucratic, for now (if I'm not mistaken) PS is operating in New Jersey and Pennsylvania, I hope soon everyone

Any updates on Michigan reinstating online gaming?

The former governor was for the lobbyist and casinos, the new governor seems more level headed.....anyone heard anything new?

My opinion

Probably because most of the other players play at Pokerstars, Fulltilt and partypoker. This keeps the gambling down in America.

I'll Help with that

Hmmm Am i right in thinking that Players on each site can transfer money to other players but a North American Player can Not pay money in to their own Poker account because of some new US Banking Law?

If that's the case I'll Do It For You!!! .

I'll only ask that I keep Deposit bonus as a service charge. as its not likely transferable any way and it saves me charging 1-2%

How do you want to pay? PM Me or I take paypal!

At the moment I'm set up with 888Poker, PokerStars and PartyPoker.

Send Via PayPal.me link. Paypal.me/inequitas

Stating Which Platform and User Name to send funds to,

e.g Ref: (Platform)(UserName11223344) PokerStars (Inequitas)

You'll receive Funds to poker account within the time it takes to process transactions. I'll check PayPal every hour.

Wow I Must say the Bonuses alone would be worth my time and possible legal action due to investigations concerning money laundering lol

Hope it helps you get back in the game...

Stop when the fun stops or when Bank Law forces you offshore bonus-less :eek::eek:

Global

Global poker really irritated me.
Yes, I'm sure, It does me at times but I still cash out monthly so Just have to take the crazy things that happen with the times it doesn't. Patience is the key and not getting locked into a hand be it AA on down. If there are 3-4 callers and I get AA and have to play it for my tournament life pre-flop I'll fold and wait for a better spot. If I have built up chips and it will only take a part of my stack I'll gamble with it. That goes for all the top hands down to about 10 9 suited. That and above, EVERYTHING fold for a better spot. If I can play and retain at least half my stack, I'll play with just about anything depends on my feelings at the moment. lol. Good Luck.
