Looks like Bovada?
I think it's great - at least he wasn't playing Words with Friends or something like that.

Those 3-4 hour sessions of listening to these people talk has got to be mind-numbing.

I really do think it's great that he as well as a lot of americans like the game of poker. I do however think that mind numbing as it may be this is serious stuff he should probably be giving all of his attention to or at least attempting to fake it. Killing people is pretty serious business after all and it just doesn't look good when someone is playing games during the discussions. All of this is of course just my opinion so take it as you will.

I hear you bro. "Nero fiddled while Rome burned" certainly comes to mind. The current Real Clear Politics Congressional approval rating (average) is at 15.5%. Lets be generous and say an even 16% (!?!).

Now, when you can maintain employment in a job carrying a 16% approval rating of your doing that job effectively, while year after year winning re-election nonetheless, why not play around instead of doing your duties and giving the issues at hand your full attention? Seriously, why bother?

But don't you worry; when something REALLY important come up, like say, a vote on Congressional pay raises or benefits, you can beat your sweet bippy none of them will be playing poker, sleeping, or WTF ever else they do instead of the job they are supposed to. No, their full attention will be on the vote.:eating:

I would feel better about it if he didn't admit to donking off thousands of play $$$$... but then isn't that the way Congress works anyway?

Looks like good publicity for the legislative push to legalize poker in the US. Any press is good press!

I agree. Something like this would result in immediate termination from any other job and should definitely be the case here. If he can't find it in himself to pay attention during a discussion about using military force against another country, he is, IMO, useless as a lawmaker. How insulting is it to the rest of the world that one of the highest positions in our government is playing a game on his phone during a discussion about an act of war? And the worst part is, you can bet your a** that he isn't the only one who is pre-occupied with something else.

Play money! Talk about freedom in the USA. They are banned from most real money sites.

I sometimes see players from China on the sites I play.

When China has more liberties than the USA, there is a problem somewhere.

The thing to remember about these hearings, no matter the gravity of the issue, most Senators view them as primarily an opportunity for camera time. Plus, McCain already has taken a position on this issue.

if i was a republican in congress who had at some point tried to get something done but saw that the democracts in congress are making sure that nothing positive ever gets done then yeah why not play poker. we have a president who watched on live feed as diplomats and navy seals were murdered and told our troops to stand down for nothing more than political policy , but this bothers you plzzzzzz
