heres the link https://www.cardschat.com/news/jason-somerville-defends-online-poker-on-cnbcs-power-lunch-29257

something to think about his statement its in bold black and qouted on the page of the link above. where one of his arguments he states in an unregualted market you dont know if the games are (SQUARE) and if your money is safe.

Now im not saying one way or the other about online poker being rigged or shady but i do think if a pro that plays online uses that statement if games are (SQUARE) it should be something to think about and not have as much trust in some of theese unregulated sites that everyone is so quick to defend. And if you read the whole article he goeas on about getting scammed on theese unregulated sites and his money just vanishing in the middle of the night (TENS OF THOUSANDS) and are dangerous. i stopped depositing awhile back on unregulated market. Myself i dont have trust in them, but for you that do should definitly read the article. It might not be as safe as you think. thanks to are great forum we still get to play some great freerolls at no risk and that is good enough for me

Anyways something to think about stay aware and play safe Gl at the tables my friends

if the games weren't 'square' it would be no mystery. there is far too much data available to players, and software to collate and analyze trends, that would make any skewing obvious. There is no incentive to skew the deal, it would be found out and the result would be catastrophic for the company.

It's a fear argument, and those arguments seem to be the strong ones these days, so why not use it?

Now a site disappearing with your bankroll overnight, that is a real possibility

I don't believe this is the case. In the largest known online scam at UB the scam was obnoxiously overt and it still took a lot of luck, hard work and most importantly insider help to prove. Without insider help any accusations can be dismissed as statistical aberrations and the cheat can switch methods and move on. If a game can be cheated it will be cheated.

Jcarver out trying to drop some knowledge on the ignorance of the anti gambling movement. Too bad they only know how to spew answers before listening to the questions.

theres many ways a game can be manipulated to not be fair (SQUARE) some that have already been done and busted and some that are being done now as in (bots) and some that we probably dont even know about.

you dont have to mess with the rng and thats the only way you could really check. so if sites have done it already and we have that as a known fact. Why would you think they wouldnt try it again especially when no one checks up on them seems kinda closed minded or a lot of trust in humanity wich i think we can all agree is probably not a good idea lol

at the level I play at not a major concern - $1 & $2 tourneys - bots would not be effective as too many all in type players who will risk their small amounts on 10% chances.

For sure bots will get more sophisticated. But until late they get one that can make actual choices on there own, bluffing getting good reads they won't be able to do. People will still dominate that part the math part bots got ya there
