intertops has confirmed they will no longer be accepting new US players.

Existing players from the US can continue to play there.

As of now Lock and Cake have not followed suit.

Options for US players who want to play poker are online are becoming quite difficult to find now. Will keep you posted if more details become available!

As a USA based player I'm not surprised. It will not be long before we will have no place to play. Thanks Mr Bush and the DOJ.

It is way too cold in Canada for me to move there. Can you just move Canada down here?

hee hee hee.. I wish!
It's actually extremely warm in the area I live in (in summer :) ). We regularly get 2 wks. of temps. staying above 100F & in winter it's rarely below freezing (but we do still get ALOT of snow). For sure it's an exception though.
... sorry for the derail :(

Wow, this comes as somewhat of a surprise. Unfortunate. It really does seem like room after room is closing to new US players. I really hope they don't follow this up by eventually banning existing US players. That would come as an even bigger surprise, though, as I imagine a considerable portion of their player base is from the US -- especially because they are so big as a sports book.

Thing is, the draw of Intertops is their great cash out times -- in addition to good freerolls/promotions of course. The rest of the network is very disappointing in that department (not sure about Lock at this point, though).

This is crazyyyy! Intertops is probably my favorite site to play on. This is another negative in the long line of negatives for US players. At least we will still be able to play, but for how much longer though...

pretty much a warning that your funds aren't going to be available much longer

I was wondering about this very possibility. Thing is, doesn't Itops have a min withdrawal amount in the neighborhood of $200? I have ~98 bucks there--are people like me s'posed to play our little hearts out to try to reach the withdrawal ceiling?!

Look into withdrawing to Ukash. It is free and won't cost you the $50 for a cheque, which you don't have enough for anyway (min $150 + $50 fee = $200)

There are tons of online stores where you can buy stuff with Ukash or even use it to transfer directly to another poker site. Definitely worth a look for your situation... not sure if there are set denominations for Ukash withdrawals or not (ie, $50, $75, $100), someone with more experience please chime in.

gamling911 link with a few more details ... something about inviting new US players possible

Those established players can also invite their friends from the US.

http://www.gambling911.com/gambling...ing-new-us-players-unless-invited-062012.html

Thanks for this article. What I found interesting were these two bits:

First, regarding inviting friends:

Those established players can also invite their friends from the US. Intertops.com did announce Tuesday evening the set up [of] a user-to-user deposit method, which apparently provides a somewhat inconvenient way in which players from the US can join through friends in other nations.

Inconvenient?! I'll say. Not the most friendly environment to invite people we know to get involved in. And then this, which is even more critical and alarming in the grand scheme of things:

Gambling911.com can confirm that a key processor for accepting deposits has stopped allowing Visa transactions. A number of the higher volume online gambling websites are currently scrambling to set up new credit card processing. This coupled with the surge in new signups originating from the USA as a result of the network switchover could be proving too overbearing on Intertops at the present time.
