GPI now taking Fan nominations for a People's Choice Award

Critics won’t deter the GPI from hosting the Global Poker Awards as scheduled for April 5, the company said on Twitter. But the organization promised to “improve the voting process” next year.

So, in response, GPI has offered fans who are upset with the nominations an alternative. The GPI is taking fan nominations for the People’s Choice Award.

Even though it's too late for this year, I'm glad that they will be making changes to their nominations process for the following years.

Having nominees that are relevant is absolutely crucial if these awards are to have any kind of legitimacy!
