Congrats to the lucky nine players who will bask in the spotlight when they meet again at the final table. Though the pomp and Circumstance will be short lived for some as the hands play out, its got to feel real good to be there.
Cruising along the web today i noticed the early odds were out for the final nine. Got me thinking how the folks here at CC will go. Choose a veteran, stand by your local guy or say a alumnist.
The following odds were rounded off and came from pinnaclesports, this is not intended for any gambling, truely informational purposes on my part.
7 to 2 The chip leader Jesse Sylvia is the favorite wrapped in 43.8M chips.
9 to 2 Andras koroknai is the only nonUS player, from Hungry he will protect 29.3M in chips.
5 to 1 Greg Merson is out of Maryland and has 28.7M chips.
13 to 2 Russell Thomas, from Pennsylvania will hold 24.8M chips.
9 to 1 At 57 years of age, Steven Gee will be the oldest player nesting 16.8M in chips.
10 to 1 Michael Esposito is out of New York and has 16.2M chips.
10 to 1 Robert Salaburu craddles 15.1M chips.
10 to 1 Jeremy Ausmus is getting early player action as the short stack with 9.8M chips.
11 to 1 The youngest player at twenty-one, Jacob Balsiger has 13.1M in chips.
Without looking at the stacks Sylvia, merson, balsiger and ausmus come to mind. Hey i know thats half the field. Looking at past performances i really like merson and ausmus. Stack size takes me in another direction.
Im going with Greg Merson to win, Jeremy Ausmus to miss out after coming from way back as the short stack. My longshot underdog will be Steven Gee, only because i too reside in San Diego.
Happy playing everyone!
