The same way rupert murdoch can't know everything thats going on at all of his media offices, the same way Richard Branson doesnt know the ins n outs of everything in his business world.

"You're born, you take shit. You get out in the world, you take more shit. You climb a little higher, you take less shit. Till one day you're up in the rarefied atmosphere and you've forgotten what shit even looks like."

I'm not saying that they didnt know anything about what was going on, but theres a chance at least that they had just delegated to the wrong people.

I dont even know everything that goes on in my house, because I have delegated to the wife, theres this really annoying thing on the go atm, wet clothes come out of it when it stops making so much noise, I DONT KNOW WHAT THAT IS AND ITS IN MY KITCHEN!

He is right about a few things. When the Feds raid you and take everything you own and harass everyone you know, then start asking YOU questions...they already know the answers. It is in your best interest to keep your mouth shut. They are building a case and don't really care who they go after, as long as they look good.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion and I, like he, don't believe that anyone would try to run a multi-million $$ business into the ground, on purpose. This includes Ferguson and Lederer. If I were receiving "hundreds of thousands" of dollars a month, there would be no questions. What would you question?

My opinion is the Feds will sort it all out, but we may never know the truth.

I love Doyle and his pearls of wisdom. I respect him as a gambler and poker player and as a person. This time, I think he has got it wrong. If certain people had no part in what was going on behind the scenes, I would be amazed. I have never been a CEO or a CFO, but the last company I worked for, I had a damned good idea of the companies structure, its ethos and its business plan. So in that respect, I cannot believe Misters Ferguson and Lederer had no idea of what was going on at FT. I am also sure, that if they were in no way responsible for what was going on, they would have screamed their innocence from the rooftops, instead, there has been just embarrassing silence.

I think Doyle makes a valid point-they are poker players not businessmen. I'd like to think they really didn't know what was going on, but who knows.... Maybe we'll find out eventually.

For them to be paying huge dividends out when the company was suffering huge losses is outright theft. They were bleeding the company as much as possible before letting it crash. It's hard to swallow that these big stock holders wern't aware of what was happening to some degree or told to look the other way as they would bleed out as much $$ to them as possible .... (of course at the expense of the player's accounts.)

These guys all know how to bluff and have a good poker face.... possibly they were able to pull one over on old dolly .... or they worded their answers carefully enuf to skirt the truth.

Love Doyle...

But im not buying any of this bs

Its your job to know whats going with the financial state of your company its doesnt matter who you delegate the work to. You, as the head of the company need to be there to oversee these people and make sure they are making the right decisions for you, your company, and the people that support your company, if they are not doing these things... its simple YOU ARE FIRED

Ray Bitar, was a very good friend to FT's largest stock holder Chris Ferguson. Upon Fergusons recommendation Bitar was named CEO and put his name on all the documents, BANK accounts, different corporations, etc.

Yet this 'GOOD FRIEND' never mentioned to Ferguson about the problems getting deposits?

Was FT guilty of gross negligence and terrible mismanagement? Yes of course...

That's hardly a pass. Yet he goes on to give a pass to the Board of Directors because they are poker players. The BoD has a duty to perform it's duties regardless of whether they are poker players or not. He makes it sound like poker players are idiots.

The entire poker world knew FTP was having problems getting deposits, Lederer and Ferguson were on the board of the PPA.

Best case is that these jokers had their heads in the sand, which is no justification imo; worst case they knew and didn't care as long as they got theirs.

Doyle is a legend and I have a ton of respect for him....

But, if I was Howard when Doyle asked me the question I would say I had no idea simply because the Feds are looking to take all my chips as well as my freedom

Lets just say that they didn't know or maybe didn't know entirely what was going on, lets just say. At this point they should have come out with some sort of statement, I understand that their lawyers have advised them not to speak but their silence is deafening. Even to say that they are sorry for the lost funds or they look forward to the truth coming out or even we didn't know all the details. By saying nothing they just look awful. They owe money of course to the players that lost it but they also owe some sort of explaination to the whole poker community. I personally believe that they knew enough to know that things were not right, these guys are far from stupid. They are also very very rich. I can't wait and see how all this plays out. Thanks God I stopped playing at FT about a year prior and had my money on PS, I'm very lucky indeed.

After the point where Ferguson had to know. The point where FT was in the hands of the government and no more business would take place, they continued to take deposits (for quite a bit according to Negreanu) Ferguson NEVER SAID A WORD.

Just let folks from all over the world continue to deposit until the feds physically shut the site down.

I agree with Negreanu, scumbags every one. I knew that his embracing this whole Jesus thing would backfire on him. :D
