He sure is a legend in poker.

I became better at poker when I read his book "Super System 2" ten years back.

I think he has a shot at the bracelet in the 2-7 lowball. I'm sure he wants to finish strong in this last tournament. I always liked Doyle and his style of play. Power Poker. I learned alot from him in his book and would like to see him win this tournament.

Doyle is my class act, a true gentleman and an incredibly gifted player, way ahead of his time, he still has the goods today as he is currently demonstrating but what separates him from today's modern aggressor is that he switches through the gears so smoothly - whenever i watch him play live, he mixes up his play - who can ever forget his legendary 10h2h win?

What are the chances Doyle will win another bracelet?

I'd say approx. 12:1 (or ~8%) at the moment althought I'd REALLY love to see him win this one right now. Goooooo Dolly Go!!

I watched a little bit of that last night from a live stream online. It was interesting to watch 2 through 7 single draw. Doyle was at that final table and he got knocked out first at the final table.... I was hoping to get to see him go a little farther.. still kind of hard to believe that was his last tournament LOL maybe he'll change his mind

I'm going to miss the guy. With so many poker players that seem to burst onto the scene and then fade away, it really puts you in awe of Doyle's longevity. He's been playing the biggest games longer than anybody.

Doyle finished strong, and even got to play at the same table as his son for a bit, which was probably special for both of them.

It is sad to see him go but I'm thankful for being able to watch, read, listen and learn from him for several years.

Pretty special to see Todd sitting beside him at the final table as well. That should be a terrific memory for him - especially with Father's Day just around the corner...

I didn't see Todd sitting with him at the same Final Table? LOL maybe we're talking about different ornaments? The final table I watched yesterday was the two through seven single draw tournament. Doyle was there but I didn't see Todd in that one? LOL which tournament were you referring to?

You have to respect taking care of an ill wife.

I believe he will be back though. The Rolling Stones are about the same age and those old farts are on what? Their TENTH farewell tour? :D

I guess he has well earned his retirement. Great player and as an author he has inspired many newcomers with his super System books. Leaving with another bracelet would fit this man

it's really the player I love the most poker.Every young already I remember being fascinated by his hat and of course by his game every time I shoot 10 2. I can not help but think of him. everything has an end but it is already a beautiful feat to have had to hold as longtemp at his age. he will remain forever a legend of the poker.

best Doyle Moment

"Baby"
Have you ever seen the episode that Sammy and Jamie gold are in with Doyle? Might be the funniest thing I've ever heard at a poker table. If you pay attention right before one of the commercial breaks Doyle leans over to the guy next to him and says " if my daddy saw this he would climb out of his grave and beat my ass to death" whoever he says it to asks if he saw what? Doyle replies me losing money at this table with these clowns! Priceless
