In the third and final episode of "Perks of the Trade", the table consisted of Bill Perkins, Doug Polk, Dan Cates, Aaron Zang and Tom Marchese.

Before starting a hand, Polk proposed a bet with the other players, if any player won a hand with 72, the others should reward the winner with $ 5 thousand each.

In the hand following the agreement, he himself receives 72nd and after raising Perkins from the button, Polk makes a 3-bet by causing the opponent to drop. After the announcement of the fold, the euphoric player shows off his beautiful hand, driving his opponents crazy and, of course, paying as well.

The best was it actually happen immediately after they made the 72 side bet. That Polk guy may have a window into the future :)

A Tournament grinder got lucky so funny hahahahaha...

No, it is not funny it is sad and pathetic that these people call themselves professional but are basically just high functioning gambling addicts rather than disciplined grinders and role models of any sort.

He grinded for years with pokerstars and then he betrays them by bashing them for years afterwards. He is scum plain and simple.

Doug Polk was a cash game player you idiot.
What the hell you know about the people to bash them so much?
He made most of his money by playing Heads Up cash where he was the best at one point.
It's pretty hilarious a play money player opening his mouth about it
At least be a least bit educated before you open up your mouth

Upswing poker, the company he walks around so proudly representing, promotes the tournament grinding lifestyle and does very little in helping you master cash games.

It also specializes in advertising to tournament players rather than cash game players

his website refers to him as DOUG POLK
Co-Founder of Upswingpoker.com
World's Best No-Limit Hold’em Player

how exactly is he calling himself the best hold'em player when he can barely cope with the monotony of anything more than a 6-man turbo tournament or a headsup cash table?

Upswing poker has a ton of good content. And they release a bunch of free articles.
Not only tournament but cash as well. Just a look and see for yourself.

Just stick to play money. It's so pathetic. Not worth arguing with you.

You only see some sort of errors with people. Not the good, not what they achieved.
What have you done so far except for playing play chips?

From your own profile
"I used to think I was the best, now I know I am."

in what? Play money?

So whom should I believe? You who hasn't done shit & keep on playing play money or the guy who was crushing the games at one point, has the charts & results to prove it, has multiple wsop bracelets, won tons of money & is helping the community & the upcoming players a lot. huh?

It's so damn pathetic.

Doug Polk is so wild pre flop. Bill "GASTRADER" (Online name) Perkins should of known that Doug was going nuts already from the straddle :(

Actually it was pathetic of me to grind real money before I was sure I could handle the millionaire stakes of play money. OSMB made a very good point on my thread which inspired me to do what I am doing.

Thanks for your input but you're the pathetic one bullying me for no good reason.

I see not only errors but the great achievements of those who really try.

This is why I truly see how much harder PS tries to not only be the best poker room but fight for poker's reputation in itself and the passion with which they go to make it accessible to the average player. Whether it's designing the user-friendly Jivaro or being the first poker room to actively force people to film themselves playing if they appeared to be bots or to be using HUD stats too severely well to be human.

To see the good in the brilliant, I must see the errors in their enemies OF COURSE.

You should get a reality check.
You are a frog in a well.

But I'm done arguing & trying to explain everything. I'll just stand aside and will enjoy your theatrics

But I enjoy arguing with you...

Just because you're an idiot doesn't mean I shouldn't engage with you... You are always welcome to argue me no matter your IQ. ;D

What a timing. Kind of similar situation when Esfandiari was talking about how he never folds kings anymore and gets dealt kings right after and Dwan stacks him with aces.
