Retired card player, Doug Polk, is trying to get the Las Vegas mayor, Carolyn Goodman, recalled following her questionable coronavirus recommendations for local businesses. The mayor, in an interview with CNN’s Anderson Cooper on Wednesday, suggested her town serve as a control group to determine the effectiveness of social distancing measures.

Do you think Doug's efforts are founded?

I really don't get it . Doug Polk has some controversial tweets for corona virus exaggerations , now he is offended because of the statements of the mayor regarding reopening land based casinos ???Also countries start uplifting many restrictions for social gatherings , reopening shops and schools , slow procedure but it is beginning... So why not open casinos and start live tournaments in the close future or in 3 , 4 ,5 or 6 months , even with limitations on people per room , or at least reopen them for slots/casino games and poker kind os cash games for few people per 15 sm ???:) I believe this is an exaggeration of Polk , if I really understood his motivation for this move .

Also , let's say he's right . Does he have any chance to win anything by doing this ?? How many will sign ?? This mayor got re-elected the last time with more than 80% of the votes , just LOL :)

You have to admit, this interview was a complete disaster, right?! I think Anderson Cooper gave her time to think about her answers but for whatever reason, she sure did come across rather ignorant. This virus seems to bring out the worst comments in some leaders.

I don't care if she was re-elected with over 80% of the votes cast, but if someone is elected to a public office, this is THEIR JOB to protect the people, whether a virus or economic disaster - get creative lady. Use the tools and the people around you! Her comments made me wonder so many things like, does she realize how easily spread this virus is and just because you state your people need to go back to work (and be exposed to the virus) is a good move for the people who voted for you? It's true these are very tough times for a lot of people, especially those employed by the service industry everywhere - being able to afford or have food and roof over their heads are the most important. In this case, she should be thinking about how to keep them safe as opposed to putting them in danger of this virus. Also, think before you speak.........

Just a real head-shaker.
