I will watch this poker titans fight, it will be a great game in my opinion

Daniel Negreanu is very smart and outgoing he will definitely be prepared for this match, we'll see if Liv Boree lasts more than 20 moves

I really hope that it will be Daniel

Wouldn't surprise me one bit if Liv won. But, time will tell! I'll be looking for the update to this, too.

I seem to be hearing Daniel Negreanu's name everywhere lately.

I love how plays Liv, but Daniel is in another level of poker

I am in team Liv.

Daniel is an incredible player. I love his style of play and his sense of humor. Enjoying it is to watch it on some live tournaments. In a word, it's unique! I give priority to him!

It doesn't surprise me actually , hi's a great person and one of the greatest poker player
plus his so charismatic when you have all this you for sure have a recipe for success !

Could go either way I think. Liv appears to be less compulsive, more calculated and strategic. Daniel is a natural talent, super competitive and appears to be more tactical. It'll be really interesting to see how this pans out.

Difficult to write Daniel off because he becomes naturally obsessed with anything he starts. Like when he began Hearthstone. While playing @ a Blizzcon with Elky the commentators noted how he had a gold foil version of one card (Kel'Thuzad), the significance being that it proved Daniel invested good time and money to learning and playing the game, as opposed to being a Celeb ambassador.

I also think that Daniel a charismatic figure but Liv takes that :five:

I think it would have been more interesting if they would have just played a normal chess game. Not sure why they need the chess experts involved. Now whoever wins is not necessarily the best player but just may have had the better 'expert' helping.

both are very familiar with strategy and rules that are foundations of win in chess, I am particularly in love with Liv so I bet with the heart in the win of Liv

I think it's like an experiment of sorts, as well they are promoting the Platinum Pass Giveaway.

I tried to find the outcome, since it was played this past weekend, but haven't looked hard enough yet.

I'll be rooting for Daniel Negreanu because I started playing poker after watching him play on a television show there was very interested and have been searching but about Negreanu and poker and fell in love at Poker

I also believe that they do not need this specialist help, but from what I understand the help is incomplete, the expert only indicates which piece should be played, but not the house of the game .... even with help still a little bit of a break head

The experts can suggest the piece to move but not where the piece should be moved. This suggestion can also be completely overlooked by either Liv or Daniel too.

Well, in a way high level chess games can be decided at blunders in the opening itself and can lead to a really one sided affair at the onset itself. For e.g. the most popular black reply to white E4 is the C5 (the Sicilian), which alone has so many studied variations (Najdorf, Dragon, Accelerated Dragon, etc) that a small mistep could lead to a very boring game. Liv and Daniel are smart but can't possibly catch up to the level of study required for any of these opening variations.

The experts may not be needed at all in the mid game and end game which is when Liv and Daniel will get to showcase their smarts.

The involvement of chess experts also keeps it very interesting for Chess fans who may not give poker a second thought. By hopefully avoiding opening blunders they will get to showcase how smart poker players are toward the end game.

Score this one for Liv! If you have about 3 hours the full replay can be watched on the Twitch channel for Chess.

The variation of chess that they played was called "Hand & Brain." In the original variation two players plays together against someone, one say the piece name to move (BRAIN) and the other must move it (HAND). The chess experts were the "brain" and called out the chess piece to be moved (i.e. pawn, rook). Daniel/Liv were the "hand" in which they chose which one of the pieces to move which location.

For fun you can try this variation yourself with a computer brain and you as the hand. Google handandbrainchess to find the BETA website.

Two of my favorite poker players to watch and keep up with. I'll be looking forward to watching this! I won't even know who to root for in this, I feel like it's the perfect match up to. I do see what some people in this thread are saying about the experts being there and how that could impact the outcome - I persoanlly don't think it will make that big of a difference come game time, if anything I think prior training would be the main "edge" one player may have
