As you might already be aware, in July 2010 a bill called HR2267, which would license and regulate online poker in the US, passed the House Financial Committee by a 41-22 vote. If this or a similar bill passes the full House, the Senate, and then is signed into law by the President, the US would soon after issue their first ever batch of gambling licenses. Harrah’s based in Nevada is the largest gaming company in the world and is in prime position to benefit when this new law is passed.

I recently read this and was wondering if anyone knew what happened to HR2267 I will try and look it up and see where it is at and what is going on but if someone could save me the trouble I would appreciate it

Don't hold your breath.

Also, just googling HR2267, the top of the page of the top result has:
H.R. 2267 (111th): Internet Gambling Regulation, Consumer Protection, and Enforcement Act

111th Congress, 2009–2010
To amend title 31, United States Code, to provide for the licensing of Internet gambling activities by the Secretary of the Treasury, to provide for consumer protections on the Internet, to enforce the tax code, and for other purposes.

Introduced:May 06, 2009

Sponsor:Rep. Barney Frank [D-MA4]

Status: Died (Reported by Committee)

Bill Overview

Status: Introduced May 06, 2009

This bill was introduced on July 29, 2010, in a previous session of Congress, but was not enacted.
So you obviously didn't look very hard.
