It is hard to put the Mike Postle scandal in true perspective.
It caught fire, exploded, but in reality then faded quickly. It did not lead to a wider scandal ( though many implied it would through other venues) and it appears to have been a specific and local case of lax management.
Additionally, as a few of us pointed out it was never going to be some fast moving investigation where there were constant reveals - it was obvious any physical evidence had been dispensed with. And, to make matters more hazy the police never appear to have gotten involved so it remains strictly a civil case.
I think in hindsight the scandal will be a minor blip in itself but one that gave a needed kick in the rear to every smaller operation that was using RFID technology without necessarily having the right security protocols in place.
The much bigger story from an historic perspective will be the expansion of legal poker on a state by state basis (as it should be) because we have not yet even seen the potential this could bring to the poker industry in the US of A.
The Mike Postle scandal will simply fade....and largely has already. There will of course be renewed interest as the civil action concludes, but the expansion of the US on-line poker community is of vastly more importance.
