What are your thoughts about him commanding a 6th bracelet and probably locking up Player of the Year? I really never followed it all that closely when the US governement went in and shut down american poker as I knew and loved it. Most of my money was on pokerstars so it didn't affect me like it did so many others. I understand why so many were upset by the croookedness of Fulltilt. But there are a couple of things that bother me about the vilification of one man over the other.
1. Daniel Negreanu forgives Howard but doesn't forgive Chris because he believes Howards apology was sincere? Why is an apology that big a deal between the two.
2. In the settlements that both men reached and they paid, only a judgement of wrong doing was made against Howard while no such judgement was made against Chris:
“WHEREAS, Lederer contends that full tilt poker was a legitimate business providing services to its customers within the bounds of the law, and that prior to April 15, 2011, he was unaware of any wrongful activity at Full Tilt including that the company had become unable to satisfy its player account liabilities;”
“WHEREAS, Ferguson contends that Full Tilt Poker was a legitimate business providing services to its customers within the bounds of the law;”
“WHEREAS, Ferguson contends that he was unaware of any wrongful activity at Full Tilt or that the company had become unable to satisfy its player account liabilities;”
3. The amount of money credited to the two:
Lederer and Ferguson were both targeted for a similar amount – $42mm vs $42.5mm but only Ferguson credited any money back to poker players in the amount of 14 million while no one else at Full Tilt did. In the way of apologies that speaks as about as sincere as you can get.
So back to my question, what do you think of the whole mess?
