Breaking News: Full Tilt Poker Goes Green!

By: David / April 17, 2012
For the first time since the Alderney Gambling Control Commission withdrew Full Tilt Poker´s operating license in June 2011, the System Status on the Full Tilt Poker web site turned to green with the message “all systems are currently operational”.

Most players who tried logging into their accounts were greeted with a screen advising them that they were trying to connect (but never did), however some players claimed that they had been asked to upgrade their software from the pre-Black Friday version (4.39.7) to version 4.45.10 and accept revised terms and conditions.

Testing for a Re-Launch?

Nobody actually got into their accounts or was allowed to access the “games in progress” although new player and customer support avatars were noticed on the site. Speculation was rife that the new owners of Full Tilt Poker were testing the latest versions of the software for a re-launch of Full Tilt Poker in the near future and was supported by the translation of a Portuguese forum entry on the 2+2 poker forums which claimed to be from somebody hired in Dublin by Pocket Kings to provide customer support for Portuguese speaking clients.

All Coming Together for May – Maybe

News that Full Tilt Poker was hiring was brought to the attention of the media at the beginning of the month and although the jobs are initially available on a three month contract the fact that the company is hiring customer support representatives rather than software designers has led many people to believe that a relaunch of Full Tilt Poker is imminent. An announcement last week that a subsidiary of the Full Tilt Poker Group – Orinic Limited – has applied to the AGCC for a Class 2 licence to provide online gaming has also led industry insiders to believe that the site could be open for business as soon as May, although no hint of a schedule has been released from Groupe Bernard Tapie or any of the company´s associates.

Here is a screenshot of the homepage of Full Tilt Poker, where you can see the status “Online Now” with 411 active players, at 14,451 tables and 4 tournaments:

We have some hope now :)

Nowhere even close to getting this hashed out yet. Trust me when they figure out how they're going to handle this there will be a massive upheaval of happiness on the internet that will be hard to miss.

on the FT screen shot provided, I did notice some peculiar things, like Ferguson still gracing the page, and 411 players playing something like 14K tables????

Bored employees playing 30 Rush tables at once?

odds of this happening twice are suppppppppppper small. They'd have to be pretty big idiots to try something within the same company as it gets re-unveiled. Tapie is doing this right so far, I don't see a reason for things to go south.

They could be bots. In fact i am sure they are not players. But the screenshot of the site is not the thing that gives me hope. The fact that for the first time after almost a year the poker server responded witch means there is someone there working on something. Hope will here more good news untill May.

Job listings in Dublin for the company's headquarters.

& this >
The site has registered two new subsidiaries in Malta. Malta Financial Services Registry of Companies listed two companies registered on April 11, 2012 - "FullTilt Holding Ltd." & "New FullTilt LTD."

Have you been following any of the news over the past year? They're not opening back up in the US & they are not paying out to US players (there's a deal in works where DoJ is paying out to FTP's US customers).

Well this news does nothing for US players, it really sucks cause there is one part of the software I started to like and that was the rush poker, and if they are not paying out to US customers and the DOJ is working on a deal to get us our money, screw that I only had 20 bucks in there, I could just imagine the hoops you will have to go through to get your money from the DOJ, forget that, they can keep it.

Yup DOJ will make a good profit from it.

If there were any justice in the department they would return that profit to the rest of the world players who have been deprived of their riteful money since they shutout these perfectly legal players and deprived them access to their accounts.

Be nice if the money would still be in my account. Still won't probably play there, though, after all the bs.

That wasn't the DOJ that did that. That was FTP. They stole your $$s. The DOJ frozen assets are basically all US player dollars. FTP was cooking the books and the DOJ shutdown exposed that but the blame for RoW player funds being gone lies solely with FTP.

Not sure, but it seems to me that the DOJ would only have control of money that was in transit to US players on BF.

I for instance had money at FT but it was wherever FT had it stashed, and I would guess it was not on US soil.

The DOJ needs to release all the money back to FT so that FT can do the paperwork, and get me my money back.

Cant wait for FT to open back up, as long as I still have my flat RB! Can't even remember my affiliate though tbh:( (Was a pretty common one fwiw, any ideas??)

With a new company running it I would have no hesitation getting my money back on there, as long as a few 10's of K's of other people had the same attitude!

EDIT: First thing i'll be doing is grinding out ftps for a FTP bathrobe, totally gutted I didnt get my hands on one of them!

There is talk that there will be no more RB at all if/when they reopen. The rumor is that they'll offer lossback (giving losing players a % of their losses back each month). The only thing they'll have for the winning players is losing players with more money.

If true or not who knows but that's the speculation anyway. Was your RB provider rbpros???

Think it could have been, i'd imagine theyd have to offer some sort of reward program for regs, ironman and RB was much better for me than vpps/fpps.

We'll see, still cant wait til its back, bit of competition for stars won't hurt.

The argument could be made that if the DOJ didn't grab all the $ from the payment processors, that FTP wouldn't have been in the trouble it was in and would have had enough funds (or at least more funds) to cover players accounts. FTP was letting players play with funds they never collected.

I'm not justifying or apologizing for the gross mis-management of FTP or saying that not having players funds segregrated is forgiveable, but I'm not giving the DOJ a pass either.
