"Late Thursday afternoon, local police raided the bodog Asia offices in Makati. Currently they have several employees sequestered in a boardroom asking for names and addresses. It’s unclear who or what they are looking for as Bodog doesn’t provide any gaming offering to the Philippines, which would be in violation of their license with the Cagayan Economic Zone Authority.
Initial reports suggest that this is a politically motivated attack orchestrated by the group of former employees, led by Swedish National Robert Gustafsson, who is currently under indictment for fraud and theft.
The timing is no coincidence as three more charges were laid today against Gustafsson, Sherwin Quiambao, Arleen Aldaba and Patrik Selin. The current charges stem from more findings in the ongoing forensic audit looking into the past dealings of Gustafsson et al. during their time with the Asian online gaming company."

Get the fook outta here! Ya know, I just got a call from my bank a couple of days ago from one of the most intellectually sounding people I have EVER talked to on a phone. He was overly calm and extremely articulate. Asking if my deposit online to China was made by me. Probly just protocol but a co-inky dink just the same.

Hope this does not affect Brovada. They are the same company, right?

No, Bovada and Bodog are not the same company. They actually have next to nothing to do with each other. Bodog has not operated in the US since like 2008 or so. They licensed their brand to MMGG who operated the US market until their license ran out a couple years ago when it was renamed Bovada. They have no relationship at all now.

EDIT: I should clarify, as the above comment is a bit over-stated. They are two different companies, run independently from each other. That said, Bovada has access to the Bodog player pool, so they could be seen as a "skin" on the Bodog network. So if somehow the entire network got shutdown, then yes it would impact Bovada.

"One Bodog executive who was in the office at the time of the raid said that he’s very proud of his staff, they all handled the incident remarkably well. He told me that they ordered about $400 worth of pizza and the staff played charades, foosball and continued to pack care packages for the victims of Super Typhoon Haiyan which hit the central Philippine islands late last week.

One employee who didn’t want to be named told us that the police were 'eating pizza and bumming smokes' during the 8-hour ordeal with one officer admitting he knew the raid was politically motivated."

I usually don't approve of excessive emoji, but I think Riffle's above pairing with said quote is the exception that proves the rule.

Also, I wonder if pizza is any good in the Philippines... and if they have any left.

Any idea on why all of the bovada Tournament Tables only show "Registering" even after the event was supposed to have already started? and I do mean ALL the tables. This is going on right now. I have already cleared my cache/cookies/cleaned the registry/restarted bovada client... anyone else having this issue?

I just posted something I think all Bovada patrons may be interested in.
I have uninstalled the software and no longer have any monies on the site at this time. No amount of cleaning your cache is going to be of any effect. All primary function/malfunction does not take place on the client. These are all server side functions.
